Haven't seen that many bad movies this year, i would probably say i only didn't like the first 3 movies on my list, the rest were okay. I have not and don't think i ever plan on seeing; Getaway, Paranoia, A Good Day to Die Hard, R.I.P.D., A Haunted House, Scary Movie V, Grown Ups 2, The Smurfs 2, The Last Exorcism Part II, Texas Chainsaw 3D, After Earth, & The Counselor. I'm sure a lot of those would be on my list if i did see them though. I saw Movie 43 at one of the first showings on the day it came out when it didn't really have any reviews out yet, otherwise i probably would have never watched it. I didn't pay to watch Identity Thief (movie channel) & Upstream Color (Netflix). Last edited by Jacob Anderson; 02-07-2014 at 10:18 PM. |

I don't like doing worst of lists but I will list what I was the most disappointed with.
1. Iron Man 3 2. To the Wonder 3. Wolf of Wall Street Iron Man 3 was a mess. Too much comedy, not enough Iron Man, Gwyneth Paltrow in Iron Man armor, and after setting up the Mandarin very well (Something most Marvel movies are lacking, a memorable villain) they made a mockery of his character and instead gave us some lame fire breathing lava guys. To the Wonder was just not very interesting. I'm a big fan of Malick and really enjoyed Tree of Life but this movie was just a bunch of random scenes with Affleck looking bored and miserable. And although there was some nice images, for the most part it was pretty bland looking for a Malick film. Wolf of Wall Street was way too long and needed a good editor, and I am usually a fan of longer films. In this case though nothing happened for the first two hours. I get it, he had lots of money, liked to party and bang hookers. Scorsese could have showed that in half the time. They introduce the cop investigating him, but there is no tension as he doesn't reappear until two hours into the film. It was a decent movie, but I agree with the critics in that it wasn't a great movie. Really surprised to see this as number one on so many lists. Leo and McConaughey were fantastic though! Generally I avoid movies I think look like utter crap, but that doesn't always save me from bad movies. Luckily I didn't see 10 stinkers last year.
These were the ones I hated. Olympus has Fallen- I like Gerard Butler in action roles, and thought maybe this would be an 80's action flick throwback. Instead I got a boring action movie with very one demensional characters. Two Guns- I thought this looked terrible from the trailers, but my parents wanted to see it so I gave it a shot. The only good thing was Paula Patton topless. Iron Man 3- Ugh this was easily the biggest dissapointment of 2013 for me. The story was lame and the villains were even lamer. Also am I the only one who thought James Badge Dale's character using a handgun in the Iron Patriot armor was ridiculous? I feel like Shane Black wanted to work on Die Hard instead. When Pepper ended up getting super powers I wanted to walk out of the theater. |

Man, I know movie opinions vary, but some of you guys/gals have some AWFUL tastes in movies if these are your worst films of the year!
![]() Unfortunately I haven't seen enough truly bad films from 2013 to make an entire list, but these 2 would make it (and keep in mind that even these weren't complete garbage, just nothing I'd watch again ![]() Carrie 5/10 (really thought it was crap, so a 5/10 is being generous) The World's End 6/10 (Great cast, some funny one-liners, but the ending ruined it for me) |

1) Safe Haven
2) Admission 3) Oblivion 4) Mama 5) Prince Avalanche 6) Blue Caprice 7) John Dies at the End 8) Warm Bodies 9) Drinking Buddies 10) Pacific Rim Top 3 are the only ones that really made me want to poke my eyeballs out of my head, the others I just didn't enjoy. I knew some of these would be bad, others I thought could be decent/good. |

Uhm.... yeah but I think this thread implies that we actually watched these films. Last year was chalk full of movies far worse than the three I had mentioned, but I didn't even bother watching those. Off the top of my head their was Scary Movie 5 A haunted House InAPPropriate comedy Movie 43 Grown Ups 2 A good day to Die Hard After Earth R.I.P.D Rapture-Palooza The Smurfs 2 See it's very easy to list 10 sh*tty movies. I've never seen these movies, but I also have no intention of watching them EVER. To be honest I hated the original Scary movie, so it's no surprise to me when the sequels are panned. |

I didn't see many of the bad movies. I consider myself lucky.
1. A Good Day to Die Hard (I really do love the first and third movie) 2. After Earth (because my friend thought it would be better than Fast & Furious 6) 3. Gravity (should have ended 35 minutes in with asphyxiation) 4. Kick-Ass 2 (the first one was so great, but this one had studio written all over it... I'll watch Super instead) As for ones I saw parts of... 4. Movie 43 (it's bad when James Gunn can't save your shitty movie) |

1. DIANA by a country mile! Though I think it might actually become a bit of a camp classic as it's quite (unintentionally) funny.
2. A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD - It has a couple of good action scenes (and a pretty lady) so there are probably worse movies. But given how great the first three were, there weren't many that left me in more despair about the state of Hollywood. 3. BULA QUO - The two old guys from Status Quo in an "action" "comedy". How this got funded is one of the great mysteries of life. 4. RUN FOR YOUR WIFE - I haven't even seen this and it made number Four. That's how bad this movie is. 5. HANSEL AND GRETEL WITCH HUNTERS - Another loathsome example of this horrible sub-genre that takes fairy tales/ historical figures/ characters from classic literature and makes them all cool and steampunky and 'splody and shit. Please stop. These are to cinema what Gerber's baby food is to Haute Cuisine. 6. EVIL DEAD - And another pointless remake that either shows no understanding on the film-makers' part of what made the original great or rejects it for the sake of making it feel different. The first was funny, outrageous, scary. This one is just grimey, nasty and stupid. (See also CARRIE) 7. WHITE HOUSE DOWN - Quite an achievement to make OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN look like a class-act. 8. MOVIE 43 - Shamefully, I actually laughed a couple of times in the first twenty minutes and thought maybe it wasn't so bad. And then, inexplicably, I just couldn't go on watching it. There's just something inherently squalid in the very DNA of the movie that makes you feel dirty. 9. INSIDIOUS 2 - The first film was a surprisingly effective old-school horror movie. But after the hugely-disappointing THE CONJURING, I'm afraid this was "Wan" bag of recycled tricks and idiotic contrivances too many. 10. THE WORLD'S END - Yes, a minority view and obviously I couldn't really argue that this was worse than THE INTERNSHIP or THE HEAT. All I can say is that I thought it was a horribly lazy, complacent, lacklustre movie that sacrificed any kind of truthfulness for gags that I didn't find at all funny. So it's here on the basis of ability squandered. 11. LES MISERABLES - I don't think this is a good film but it's not a terrible one either. I'll just add it on the basis that I can't stand the music. And if you can't stand the music in a musical, they're pretty much torture to watch. |
