Well they need to lower the 'Singin' in the Rain' Collector's set. I've been waiting on that to drop since it came out.

But yea, this price for the 'The Exorcist' Anthology is insane. Pre-ordered!

with the amazon app for google chrome and firefox, which allows you $5 off a $25 purchase, this def becomes a no brainer for $20 shipped, if you have prime

If The Exorcist was finally getting released with the proper color timing (not blue), then I would be all in for this. But since it's the same release I already own, there's no need for me to pick this up. I'll go for Exorcist 3 though because that's a pretty chilling film with some excellent performances. Part 2 was garbage. Glad to hear part 3 is finally getting released, and very glad it's getting a separate release.

Plus that scene is arguably the scariest of the entire film.

Maybe you guys should stop quoting it so more people don't see it.

The damage has already been done, so it really doesn't matter now thanks to "Servo", by not using a spoiler tag in the first place.

That gif doesn't even capture the essence of why that scene is so effective.

True, but it still ruins the scene. That image should be removed. I know it's an older film but this is the first time the film is on blu-ray as as evidenced in here many have not seen it yet.

I do hope that, if there is indeed a 6th disc, it would be a brand new disc of extras and not the one from the last Exorcist set

I watched Ex2 tonight before reading this thread and that was a huge mistake. It was so bad I thought I had fallen asleep and was dreaming at one point (the imaginary lasso-thing). Is it worth the time to watch Ex3?

Exorcist III was actually a huge step-up from II. It's completely different from both The Exorcist and The Heretic, but it's pretty good. The movie ignores anything that happened in II. Also, it was written and directed by William Peter Blatty, the writer of the original Exorcist book and screenplay. Although post-production was hectic and the producers altered Blatty's vision to make the movie more "commercial". For example they changed the title from Legion to The Exorcist III, and did some re-shoots, notably to add an exorcism sequence to the climax of the film.

Side note, The Heretic is extremely weird, but there's something irresistible about it that makes me always want to go back and watch it again every 5 years or so. I sometimes wonder if the whole crew was on acid the entire time.

This is pretty much the only reason to watch Exorcist 2

Exorcist 3 is a very different style of film to the first two. It is more like a "murder mystery" style but with the deeply disturbing demonic theme.
