Not sure what the issue is - you could join the group buy prior to art being shown and then cancel with Kevin if you happen to not like it once it's revealed.

I think Kevin would probably give the option for people to back out of their commitment if they're not happy with the artwork whenever it's released ..

Sure we could, but I hate backing out of a group buy. Most of the blufans group buys will show the artwork first. If this is so early in development they can't even show the artwork then IMO it is to early for the group buy list to happen.

i happen to agree with outlaw on this. i don't think it's unreasonable to see the artwork before committing to a purchase. now... if the GB happens before the artwork is revealed, you can bet your asteroids that i'm in in IN even before seeing the artwork

...but i just wanted to back outlaw here because i think some of you guys are being tough on him for no good reason.

If the group buy happens before artwork is revealed, I think it's common sense that once artwork is available you'll see cancellations roll through for those not keen on the artwork.

Exactly. Plus Kevin is very flexible with things like this, and will always try to work with GB members...whether they want in or out.
So this whole topic is pretty moot, IMO.

Definitely. He was very understanding with me when I bailed on all the BF Marvel GBs but then wanted back in on the IM one. I'm sure if the artwork gets shown after the fact then he'll be prepared for the cancellations.

yah and besides.. think about it.. what are the chances that the Blufans World Exclusive Artwork will be worse than the tapedeck?

...highly unlikely so I don't think we have much to worry about here. Personally I am quite pleased that BF decided to pick up this title. Someone had to give it proper treatment.

I'm sure he would be prepared for the cancellations. However, wouldn't it just be easier for everyone if the group buy began after final/official artwork was revealed? Then, everyone who is interested can sign up... everyone who isn't interested can avoid signing up... and Kevin doesn't have to do ANY accommodating. Saves everyone some extra e-mails and extra work.

If I were arranging a group buy of this nature, I would try to make it easiest on everyone by waiting for official artwork before initiating the group buy.

However, if he has no problems with the chaos of dealing with a bunch of people changing their minds, all of the power to him!

EDIT: I noticed in the official thread that one of the rules states very clearly...

5) Once you put your name for Blufans group buy, it is very important you stick with it. Of course if you are really having troubles for paying the invoice later time, please contact me as soon as you can for cancellation. However, any non paid and non response members, they will be on the Blacklist for any future Blufans group buys.

That should reinforce the idea of not starting the group buy commitment list until the artwork is officially released.
