Even if you are wrong it's not like this is some new practice to not take full advantage of a format in the later years. Could be purposely or some studios feel money is better spent focusing on new tech. Who really knows, but it has happened in the past. I watched a 10 minute preview of The Martian on Verizon Fios, colors looked fine to me, the shots on Mars were especially vibrant. I didn't see this in the theaters so i don't have anything to compare it to like you. |

DCP trailer They are direct grabs not photos. I didn't think the Martian was quite that muted in colour in the cinema, and it looked more like the more colourful image |

Trailers and final DCPs are usually very different, aren't they?
I remember a similar discussion about The Dark Knight Rises. The trailer color-grading was way "cooler" than the final DCP and Blu-ray... |

I don't want to think that Fox is trying to kill Blu-ray quality BEFORE the new format is actually on the market... It wouldn't make any sense... Blu-Ray screens: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by MisterXDTV; 01-03-2016 at 08:52 PM. |
