Of course the risk is that the studio will hold these back now, in order to tie into the release of Rambo 5 next year. I hope I'm wrong though.

What's the best edition of the original trilogy atm? Is it still the UK release, or has that since been surpassed?

DE Ultimate Edition, because of this: "The identical German and Scandinavian Ultimate Editions have the best extras and a new transfer and are the full, uncut version." It is about Rambo 3; for Rambo 1 or 2, the UK Grenade Edition is the same as DE

i've never seen pt 2/pt2. i've always seen first blood as a stand alone movie just because of how slient stalone is/the action isn't over the top/the ending is so singular that sequels cheapened everything. ughh, if ther's gonna be a box set for them i'm down, just hop it's in the right hands.

I agree 100%. In fact, I was surprised by how much I liked 4. It was much darker and more violent than the others.

Part 4 sits uncomfortably between being an earnest war movie and just a crazy shoot'em-up, but left a somewhat nasty taste in my mouth. The excess violence I didn't see as a strong point since parts 2 and 3 have enough violence as it is. No, I definitely prefer the (admittedly) more cartoony excesses of 2 and 3. Action is way more creative and varied than the repetitive Rambo 4, and another thing part 4 doesn't have is Jerry Goldsmith firing on all cylinders.
