Same. Lionsgate has been good with releasing catalog titles on 4K but they were either film to DI or digitally shot. I'm going to be curious how they do with a rescan.

Hopefully they have people thag have worked on the new 4K transfer that take into account all the issues of all the previous BLU and DVD releases.
The fact that not all audio tracks seem to be uncompressed (again this coild be info not confirmed) well keeps me wondering However Halloween gets more re-issues than most films so if this 4K is bad then we can always look forward to another release in 3-4 years |

To be fair the 35th Anniversary disc, I believe, used a 4K scan. More than likely that will the basis for the disc.

So on that note, I guess Lionsgate would be the one to watch for any potential 4K release of The Evil Dead... though I'm not sure when they would do that. Obviously the 4K of Halloween is for both the 40th anniversary as well as to coincide with the new film, but nothing coming up that Lionsgate would jump on for The Evil Dead. Hell, they're still sitting on a 4K restoration of the first Saw.
Either way, I'll be jumping on this... this is one of those films I seem to have on most formats: VHS, LD (autographed from the three Michael Myers of the first film), DVD, and Blu-ray... no beta or VCD though ![]() |

Super stoked for this release. Like many here, this is my favorite horror film of all time.
![]() Heck, I even like H3 just for at least trying to do something innovative. I sincerely feel it would fare better among your average movie-goers if they forget about MM and let it stand alone on its own merits. Anyway, I hope this gets a proper scan/restoration for this release and we get "THE" definitive edition on home video. Color timing issues be damned! ![]() |

Decided to preorder at DiabolikDVD.com for $16.99 (+$5.00 shipping), I know it will be packaged well for shipping. Never got around to getting the bluray releases of Halloween so it should be a big upgrade.
