Because a shit ton of new supplements is better then a 4K transfer. I’ll take that anyway.

4K tranfers have always been overrated to me. Not knocking people who like them but I personally don’t see much of a difference. And this is coming from someone that bought a 4K Blu-ray player and 4K UHD T.V. Day one

100% this. Couldn’t have said it better.

I’d prefer seeing Criterion do a new 2K scan with a shit ton of new supplements.

I’d prefer the movie looks better than the supplements!

I’d rather have correct aspect ratio then a new transfer because like I said to me I don’t see that much of a difference. I know Criterion would do right by the movie. Not so sure about WB.

This is what is preventing me from buying more of the classics in HD. The way the 4k releases are coming out theres no point in buying blus if the PQ is better IMO. Of course If the PQ is better is never known until its released.

I honestly couldn’t give any less of a shit about new special features (especially these days when they’re mostly just static-camera interviews). All I care about is PQ.

Criterion will never get this. This makes too much money for WB to license it out. Just accept it and move on.

I know. Trust me I’m fine with the 4K transfer. It’s just my dream for this movie to get the Criterion treatment. Just let me dream dammit

For extras I would like Kubricks paper notes from the SK/museum/archives digitally edited in 4K. Like a photo album. The screenplay notes and confidential notes basically.

The Storyboard someone posted early looks really interesting as well. I remember Taxi Driver DVD had the screenplay. To bad that didn't become popular, but then again most pop culture films don't have an interesting screenplay to go and revisit or a director that did the screenplay himself. And had multiple creative ending ideas.

I know it won't happen.

PQ > extras.

Besides, the extras on the SE DVD/BD were decent enough already. It's not gonna break my heart if Warners don't include anything new on the UHD (which they likely won't). What's important is that the film itself looks stellar.

Also, Criterion are overrated idgaf.

If the deleted scenes no longer exist or are withheld, then I’d be content with a substantial photo gallery, loaded with ultra-rare images from material that didn’t make the final cut.
