I think I loved this flick as a kid. I recently tried to watch this on Prime (I think) in SD and it was a painful experience. I pre-ordered immediately!

Diabolik might carry it, but I'm not sure.

Hard to believe there are people who haven't seen this movie. Back in the day you had to actively try to avoid it - seemed like it was everywhere.

I have to keep reminding myself that not everyone in the forum is my age and didn't 'grow up' with the films and shows that I did.

But I still do a double take when I see people complaining about non use of spoiler tags in movie threads where the film is 20, 30, 40+ years old because they haven't seen it yet.

A joke back in the 80s was that HBO stood for “Hey Beastmasters on”

This film seems too "big" to keep as a ltd ed exclusive. Will VS release a standard blu-ray ed for a wider market? (I don't have 4K and can't afford to splurge right now on overseas ship for a UHD combo.)

On the one hand I don't think this film is good enough to justify a pricey release.

On the other hand I'm REALLY EXCITED we're getting speciality 4k titles from smaller distributors.

So I'm totally preordering this to support VS and I will enjoy watching Beastmaster, a movie I haven't seen in years.

Usually VS makes it very very clear there will be no further print run after it sells out. I don't see anything like that with Beastmaster.

Brad Henderson confirmed on Twitter that no VSU release will be "gone forever" like Rad and everything in VSA. Only the slipcovers are limited, like all their non-VSA releases. So a standard edition is confirmed, and maybe it'll still even have the book.

I'm sure this limited edition will be long gone before there is time for it to release to other retailers, but the standard edition will be available at wowHD like all their standard releases. Rad was a very unique situation.

If you do want the LE though the VS shop is 100% customs friendly.

It would not surprise me if RAD was limited to just make quick capital off it for whatever that production company is called.

Fully agree. Roberts got her role in the 1985 James Bond movie "A View to a Kill" when the producers saw her in this

I'm aware of that. Which is a quick way to make money selling 12,000 units in a couple of weeks.

They're impressive figures, I can see 3,000 copies going, but four times as many is great for Vinegar Syndrome.

I have the $8 HD Amazon version and it looks decent. Some scenes are better than others. The daylight scenes look good for the most part. The aspect ratio seems a bit off though. The beast vision is off center and some scenes look zoomed in.

I pre-ordered since the set looks fantastic. Definitely want the 4K version & extras.

Weird you're passing on Beastmaster because you call it "kind of cheesy" but have no problem owning Flash Gordon, which is downright cheesy and completely awful.
