Does this mean I'll be able to watch DBZ on Crunchyroll?

Worth mentioning this here:
"Will the Funimation brand continue to be used for home video or other contexts? A Funimation spokesman told ANN that although the Funimation service will continue with no current end date, home video will eventually move to the Crunchyroll brand internationally. This also applies to Funimation's Europe equivalent, Wakanim." https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/fea...merger/.183405 |

Absolutely disgusting. This industry continues to not value translators. Without them, you would be nothing.

Something I'm now wondering, with the FUNimation brand being phased out in favor of Crunchyroll, what's going to happen to the hundreds of in-print releases? When they get reprinted, are they going to replace the FUNimation logo with the Crunchyroll one, or are they going to have to re-release everything, possibly under a new UPC prefix? All FUNimation releases start with 704400.

It seems that Crunchyroll has started to release their home video titles on their own, but the downside is that they're releasing only five titles in June of this year.

I could care less about all the hype about their streaming, I just want to be assured they will still release as much anime per month on Blu-ray as Funimation and Crunchyroll had done when they were still separate. The number of June releases from the combined company are not so very promising on that aspect, but for now I'll chalk up the low release count from them being busy with all the migration of content right now. That count had better jump up significantly in the upcoming few months, though.

“… And AMC Networks …” Plenty of streaming distributors and competition. I don’t see why it wouldn’t have been approved. It was always going to happen. And Mr. Decker even mentions that streaming is the core of the business. “The core Crunchyroll business revolves around streaming video…” Home video would be a tough argument to make because there hasn’t been significant competition to begin with there. It’s been a done deal on that front for years. Sentai couldn't even exceed or match Funi’s monthly output. Still can’t but that’ll probably change or become a more level playing field. |

Streaming can go suck my limp ***k. To hell if I'm gonna "go with the flow" - once physical anime releases cease being made, I'm outta here cold turkey - I'll just find myself yet another new hobby. I usually switch hobbies about every 5 years anyway, and I've been collecting anime on Blu-ray since March 2013, or nine years now, so I'm way over due. I guess that's why I felt like throwing almost $4K into my new anime poster collecting hobby, just since January. Besides, I already have enough unwatched anime on physical media to last me way longer than the years I have left to live...

Yeah if physical anime goes away I do too. Most of the fun I have is collecting anime media. I stream but mostly it is cause I knew eventually I will be able to buy the series on blu-ray. Netflix is already running it for me. Knowing I can never own a certain series ruins the whole experience.

I cancelled my Funimation subscription and will not be signing up for Crunchyroll. I'll buy physical release for shows/movies that interest me like Dragonball, Demon Slayer, My Hero etc. But **** their lesser service at a higher price. I already have Netflix and that looks to be the only place I'll be streaming anime.
