Yep, it's pretty great. Make sure to also watch 1923 if you haven't yet; also very good. Can't wait for the second season of that one.

Yeah, I already bought 1923 on blu ray and I'm going to start watching soon. I watched the first season of Yellowstone so I bought a bunch of Taylor Sheridan's other shows; 1883, 1923, Mayor of Kingstown season 1, Special Ops: Lioness and Yellowstone season 2-5. I'm just starting to work my way through all of them.

Just don't expect 1923 to be as good, instead of doing one season with maybe a 12 episodes they decided to stretch it to 16 at 8 episodes a season... so they kept finding ways to keep the one guy from returning home so quickly. Maybe they thought it wouldn't be so bad because they were set to begin filming but the strikes pushed it back til who knows when.

Hm, I found Spencer's storyline just as good if not better than the events around the ranch and the Teonna storyline. The season didn't feel stretched at all to me.

It was literally "Spencer better get here soon" then something would happen.
[Show spoiler]Plus his storyline taking place later in the timeline despite seemingly running concurrently then he finally starts his return home and
then there was just obstacle after obstacle to keep him away longer. 12-14 episodes in 1 season would've been better than 2 8-episode seasons IMO. 1883 was a better told story.

But what does it matter if the story is good?

I wasn't bored for a minute. Seems to me Sheridan is producing more than enough material for 2 seasons. I don't know how he does it, together with his other shows and directing.
