Been undecided on whether to get this or the Criterion blu ray (the extra special features are a big plus for me) when I started to hear that the audio on the Kino Lorber 4k is off? I saw a comment on a review saying it was pitched too low, but I can't really find any specific information on this elsewhere? What specifically is going on with the 4k's audio, specifically the pitch?

If you read just one page back people are discussing this issue, and it sounds like the problematic pitch shift was on an earlier version of the 5.1 track -- not the 4K's 5.1 track. That said it sounds like the 4K's 5.1 isn't perfect, but several commenters say it's far better than the track it replaced.

Dailyan: "The 5.1 remix on the UHD is not the same as the old SE DVD/MGM Blu. The old 5.1 was littered with fake stereo effects such as phasing and the pitch was slightly off compared to the mono (a semitone too low)."

Of course it's very annoying that the original track isn't offered, since it sounds like the 2.0 track has worse issues than the 5.1. In any case, if you go back 25 posts or so and start reading forward and you'll probably find at least some of the info you're looking for.

It was very popular. It seems like Criterion has something to do with this and they weren't expecting the rights to be pulled so soon considering they were working on a Kubrick 4K boxset that included the three Kubrciks that are also going OOP.

Thanks! Ordered 12 Angry Men off Amazon. Already had all the others!

I’ll see no need to double dip if these come from Criterion, and I might as well snag 12 Angry Men at a lower price than a Criterion would ever be, if it ever happened.
