More of an overall tone thing. Yeah, you can curse a bit in PG but not a whole lot.

Indeed. Star Trek’s best years are from the last century.

That one, too, is a placeholder. Using a modified version of the first Blu-ray set. My guess is they’ll do some sort of TNG version of the art from the TOS sets.

Sweet but I don't think they'll be any extended cuts.

Except for the bizarre FOX TV airing of Generations, where they had cut scenes for time but also had alternate additional footage in other places, it's never been an issue other than Nemesis.

Is that before or after the "fans" brought out the pitchforks and started complaining nonstop about Berman & Braga on Usenet and other places?

Not scenes, but shot trims. I didn't bother to tape it since I had the LaserDisc and it was panned & scanned but I do remember one scene in particular is when Troi & Picard see the Armagosa star implosion they showed Picard & Troi leaving his quarters with the doors shutting behind them - the theatrical cut is the implosion out the window and then they're coming onto the bridge. Little extra shots like that. Picard's Christmas had an extra shot of the kids.

As I said, bizarre. I wish I had taped it because as far as I know it never aired like that again.

The FX airing of Iron Man had stuff like that too. Shots that weren't in the theatrical cut but not wholesale extra scenes.

My B-Day is the 12 of April, and I grew up with TNG as MY Star Trek. This is perfect timing for this fan as well.

No, he is not cannon in any "official continuity". The character was created by John Logan, without any official approval and was excised from the film because having the character in the final film would affect post-film continuity and merchandise, namely the ongoing TNG novels, which use the final cut of the film as cannon, but not the film's novelization, in which the character was kept intact as the replacement first officer.

Indeed it is, mine is the 13th. I'm a little older though. On my 12th or 13th Birthday in 1975/76 my Parent's took me on a road trip from Jersey to The Federation Trading Post in New York. It was a store with all things Trek Original Series including Tribbles one of which I brought home. So My Trek was the Original Series. Didn't keep me from loving the Next Gen or the newer Trek franchises. I'm just glad and amazed it's still here and will still be here long after I get beamed up to a better place. Hopefully it's up, I don't care much for the heat ...

I watched the 4K editions of the original 6 Star Trek movies with my 11 years old son a few months ago. He liked them so much that he wants to discover the rest of the franchise now, which was not my intention of buying at first.... but I may reconsider then. Nemesis will be VERY hard though.

Cool. A budding science-fiction fan.
Nothing stimulates the mind as much as imagining what may one day be possible.

So you brought one tribble home in 1975 and now the town is overrun with tribbles 😂 can you imagine what 45 years of tribbles would do to a town...i guess they could have taken over the World in that time.
