How about Kate Lloyd makes her way to the Russian camp, then she and the Russians go to the American camp and bring back Childs and MacReadys dead/frozen bodies. One is the Thing and thaws out. But, all we really have then is a remake of the 1982 & 2011 versions.

As the movie opens, the screen is dark. Is it night? Are we in a cave? A tunnel? No, it's just a dark room. Slowly walking towards the camera is Kurt Russell. He's well lit; everything around him is black. He speaks: "Just watch the damn movie from 1982." He gives his famous smile, turns around, and walks back into the darkness. The lights go up, everybody in the auditorium leaves.

Just got done watching the '82 film and something occurred to me for the first time. What ever happened to Nauls? The focus of the topic is always MacReady and Childs but it's never made clear what happened to Nauls. We assume he died offscreen but The Thing could've easily taken him over too and had him hiding out waiting to freeze. I don't think we need a sequel (especially nowadays) but I just thought that was intriguing. I guess the generator room exploding kind of wipes that idea out though.

Oh yeah, good call on Nauls! Not totally sure but I do assume he doesn’t make it out of their alive either.

Is this the film he's supposedly directing remotely? I heard they tricked him into thinking it's a video game about directing. This way he does it for free!
