OP, I changed my level name to "LOST island".

I'm no longer working on the smoke monster for the time being. it's a P.I.T.A. and I need a change of scenery. but a couple hours ago I added a polar bear you can shoot w/ the paintinator and rearranged much of the level so it makes more sense

Ok, got to play some levels last night - started out with server issues - but later it started working for me - so, I got a late start.

Tried hellmonkey's "Stormy Night" - very cool.

That's one of the things I love about LBP. The way he made rain and lightening was really neat and probably something I wouldn't have thought of. I just think it's amazing that we all have the same tools but that you can get such wildly different takes on things.

Only two recommendations - move the camera angle on the Boss Battle so we can see the Boss. Many times I would have random fire logs land on me - but I couldn't see them coming so I didn't have a change to avoid them. Ended up dying many, many times here.

Also, I happened to be playing this level 2 player with Stephie and the camera angle might need to be pulled out. If one person falls from the platform, the other has to jump down because they'll die from being off screen after a few seconds (the other player can't get back up in time to avoid this).

Other than that, really solid level.

I'll list a couple more I played in a bit.

Master 8_Ball - played Pillow Fight - is there anyway to pull out the camera more? In 2 player mode we kept going off screen. Also, I couldn't tell when one of us had won. - We dropped down to the bottom, and I assumed one of us had won. On each side, I would recommend having a "far away" camera angle with a slant facing the opposite wall.

Really liked Launch - I won in the 2 player mode!

Jamclaur - Played "Portrait of American Family".

Very interesting - although I can see why you might be getting some of the bad tags you're getting. Anytime you make a highconcept piece you risk alienating a large segment of the LBP population. Any kind of "art" levels, and highconcept levels will be largely ignored by people looking only to run and jump.

I think you created some interesting imagery - but don't take it to heart if people "don't get it".

Thanks for the heads up Cym. Ill change the camera angle/zoom when i get home tonight. I kinda like how the boss room works. The fire logs wont insta kill you, but can be very annoying. Ive tired it about 10 times and aced 3-4 times, and died horribly like 3-4 times. Its nice and random.

It will take a while to set the camera though. If youre too far out, you wont be able to see the brain bubbles. Ill have to work on it.

@ Jamclaur. I played your level last night and thought it was really creative. But i could not get past the area where you jump over the gas. It was really annoying having to run all the way back upstairs .

1.1 confused people. It was supposed to mean season 1, episode 1, but many people thought it was version 1.1...as in barely a step up from beta. personally, I hate when creators publish levels as "beta". I see it as an excuse to publish a crappy level instead of testing with friends and fixing mistakes like we all do. I didn't want it to be negatively perceived that way because 1.1 was in the name.

Also, LOST Island makes it a little more clear that it's a tribute to the TV show. And...because unless YOU do the smoke monster...1.2 might not happen anytime soon.

and your tips were good, I've actually already tried emitters last week, but getting them to emit at the right time and angle, move at the right speed, and setting up enough of them to chase a player through a race of a respectable length proved too far beyond my abilities.

Actually, Stephie and I died many times from the random fire logs while taking the lifts up. Luckily - you included to life portals, both with double lives. We'd be riding the lift up and get killed by a random log. It wouldn't be bad if I was given a chance to jump or something - but I never see it till it lands on me, so it can make it a bit difficult.

Unfortunately, if you make things even the slightest bit frustrating, people will leave your level - rate it low and mark rubbish, without even trying. It's a solid level, just need to make the Boss Battle just a "tad" more forgiving.

Did you look at my Winter Wonderland level - for the race against the cold with Jack Frost?

That's exactly how it would be done (or, how I would do it). It isn't random (although many people like to complain when they can't beat it that it is). I spent a LOT of time to get the timing/proximity very specific.

So, if you are moving quickly, the "cold" will show up right behind you as you are running. I wanted to give people that "Whew! That was close!" feeling when they made it through. But, if you are going slow, or hopping - you're a goner.

You could set up the Smoke Monster, almost exactly using this model - even make it a race (although your's would have falling trees ect.)

Oh, played Rovic's level last night as well (couldn't remember who's it was.)

Night at the fair was fun - hard with 2 players though. (My first 2 levels are really only 1 player levels. That's why I created a level specific to multiplayers. Felt I had been leaving that out of my level making).

Only 5 left to try out. Dpompeo , DezNutz, DarknessDK, Avarice, blu-rayfan101

Btw, every level I tried said failed to upload score - and same with the comments. So, don't be surprised if you don't see my name on the players scores. Not sure if the comments will take later.
