You might try 80 and or 100Hz, I had great response from both settings.

The superleo bluray demo disc I think is the one doesn't have 80 on it but does have 100 but i never tested it.

If you can localize your bass, drop it down to 80hz or 100hz. Chances are you won't miss anything.

Also, if anyone wants to experiment with higher crossovers for their speakers----100hz or 120hz instead of 80hz for example---you can also try lowering the crossover control on the subwoofer if you are experiencing any localization effects.

Thanks Tom. So it's pretty much a given that what the ratshack shows below 30hz to have to add some extra dB to it.

I have my new XS30 in a corner but I'm going to try different spots. I borrowed my friends omni mic and I will use that also. I have not run audyssey xt32 yet. I posted this in AVS forum also, cause I know some guys frequent there also and some that don't look here.

Hey Tom, it's me, the SoCal Browns fan that you talked to today. I wanted to say thank you for taking your time and answering each and every one of my questions. I have decided to buy an XS15 to replace my Cadence CSX-12 II and will officially place my order on Monday when I'm back from San Diego......I look forward to being a Power Sound Audio customer!

While I'm patiently waiting for my Triax I've had to rehab some old subs I have. I replaced a 15 inch woofer in a BP2000 and had to reinforce the cabinet on a Niles Stagefront 15 inch sub. The Niles sub had to weight close to 40 lbs while the Definitive replacement was half that. Does anyone know the approximate weight on the new Triax drivers?

We'll know a lot more about the Browns after tomorrow. 2 games do not make a season...but its more than 1!

BTW, you can see good info on the Cadence 15" here

http://www.data-bass.com/data?page=system&id=74

Subtract about 3-4dB to go from the 15" version to your 12" I'd guess.

I have been granted approval for an additional sub by the wife.

Now what she does not know is that I am considering the xv30 for my roughly 2350 cubic foot room.

I am concerned that dual 15 inch ports might sound sloppy with music????

Is the XS30 the XV30 in sealed form?? The reviews are great on the XS30 but can only find one on the xv30?

I see the size of the xv30 is enormous, but really it is no bigger than 2 separate subs from psa put together (at least by much).

I have a dedicated theater so size of the sub is not concerning to me.

What is most important to me is being able to blend well with my Goldenear
Triton II's. I do want to dig deep in movies as well. The triton's do well for mid bass, and some lower bass. I want to go deeper! I have a Paradigm PW2200 which is a capable sub, but my thinking is that 1 xv30 will take up the duty of 2 subs in my space, giving me the quasi quad set up I am looking for. That goal is to blend well with the GE's and have minimal nulls. and dig deep.
The XV30 will go directly behind the couch.

My room dimensions are: 11feet wide/27feet long/8feet high.

Listening 50/50 Music/Movies.

Is this goal attainable or are there tradeoffs as usual when talking about speakers??

Just my 2 cents,i have the XV-15 and it does go very deep ! I can only imagine how good the XV-30 would sound with movies. But with music,i don't like it quite as much,i also have a sealed sub and it sounds much better, tighter and more accurate. So it is hard to have the best of both worlds, but i think you'd be fine with the 30.

How about a Seato Submersive? That should take care of you.
