I thought about it, but I'll just stick with the standalone release of Rises. I'll save a few dollars that way.
It also comes with a 64 page book btw

Since there are already 2 discs with extras in the upcoming trilogy I would assume they will do something more special with UCE and the first two movies needs new transfers anyway.

Question. Does the Bat Cowl edition include the regular BD case inside?

Or is it just the discs?

No, it's quite small. The base is about the size of a DVD case layed flat, it's about 5" tall and 7" wide and 5" deep. Such a shame, because if they would make it just a tad larger it would be really something.

I have it pre-ordered at $27.99 (I got it before they raised the price) so I may still get it simply because of the lower cost.

It's "imited" to 30,000.

No, check the picture I just posted above. It has a plastic disk which slides in and out of the back of the base which holds the discs. Sort of like the Watchment Nightowl ship disc holding setup.

I have the individual movies for now, I was going to pick up the trilogy pack until I heard that an Ultimate Trology Blu-ray set will be released sometime next year. I try and reduce double dipping as much as possible, however Warner is big on many many releases of the same movie. I will probably pick up The Dark Knight Rises Blu-ray Limited Edition Cowl edition for now, and then maybe sell everything off next year and pick up the new Ultimate Trilogy edition. I wonder what else will be included in the Ultimate edition?

Marvel Universe Phase One breifcase taught me not to wait around on stuff!
I've just got 3 versions of the trilogy preordered(US, UK, and US dvd). I may not even get any of them, I'll wait and see what they all look like and as more information is released. Then I'll make my decision.
Who knows, maybe by then we'll get more info about the Ultimate trilogy and I'll definitely cancel? HIghly doubtful we'll get any such info, but you never know!

The bat cowl is far more intriguing than any of the film's players.

"People need dramatic examples to shake them out of apathy. I can't do this as Bruce Wayne. A man is just flesh and blood and can be ignored or destroyed. But as a symbol... as a symbol, I can be incorruptible, everlasting."

How can a plain black/blue mask look great? To each his own I guess.

Besides... there are celebrities in basically every movie. 90 something percent of movie covers "put the actors on display". Look at the Avengers covers. Look at all the Pirates films. Lord of the Rings. Star Wars. Thor. Harry Potter. It's endless. So anyway I guess I disagree with your disagreement. But hey... this is the internet.

Any chance that the stores will get a few copies of the Cowl Set to sell? Debating if I should pre-order it now or wait to pick it in store.......

No. "To each his own" if fine, if you want to be PC use "To each his or her own". You cannot co-opt "they" into "their." This isn't the place to correct one another's grammar, etc. So let's all stop that.

That said, I think the art for this release is a little sloppy, but I like the digipack. Anyways, I'm going for the individual TDKR, I'll only double dip for remasters of Begins and TDK and we'll see if that ever happens.

Seems like Amazon made sure you can only order maximum of 3 for the Trilogy. Is it limited? Cuz Im from the Philippines and 5 of us want to order in one account to save for shipping.

I wasn't correcting grammar. I was highlighting his point that everyone can make a independent decision. When I included(not corrected) "to each their own", I did it has not being gender specific.
I, fully, understand how the idiom works as "his" means "his/her". Just like many words are being added to the lexicon every year, "To each their own" is gaining popularity in the PC world and I fully support it.

Just pre-order it from Amazon. Its supposed to be 'a limited edition' but as we all know that either means they have 1 copy in a store or 1000. Can't hold much weight in the words 'limited' anymore. So, just preorder it and save yourself the headache. If the price drops, amazon will honor the lower price. Plus they don't charge you until it ships, so you can always cancel it between now and then.
