Mine has full, zoom and wide zoom. I have it at full.

That's it? I guess it would be full on yours then. It might be the way your blu-ray player is set. What kind of player do you have?

I have a Sony Blu-ray player from a few years ago. By the way full-screen presentations on a dvd being played in a Blu-ray player is always stretched to widescreen. How do I fix that?

I only have three settings on my TV picture. Full, zoom and wide zoom.

I have a couple of Sony's. You need to go to setup, then go to screen settings, go to tv type and make sure you have it set to 16:9 first. Then go to screen format and make sure it's on normal. That should fix all of your problems right there.

You know something, I've kind of come around to your way of thinking. I was wrong. The alternate spiderwalk scene does make more sense because Regan actually goes after and tries to attack someone. They should've had her positioned up more with her knees up off the floor or something like that.

I like the tongue flick better. It resembles the book more with Regan going after Sharon. In the book it has Regan following Sharon licking her ankles. That's how they should have filmed it.

I still haven't read the original novel. I have it in my amazon.com shopping cart and I'll be purchasing it in December.

It looks to have the original cover art and font on it as well.

I still prefer Blatty's orginal version of The Exorcist. I don't think that anything he added for the 40th Anniversary Edition made the book any better, and it hits some sour notes in the dialogue that were fine as originally written. I don't know why writers feel they have to go back and change books that were already great, not to mention tremendously successful, in their original form.

Well, I figure I'd get the 40th Anniversary edition because I haven't read that version yet. I used to have the original novel but it got lost in a move about 10 years ago.

It's worth reading for comparison purposes...but for me, it's like the extended cut of the film. A needless revision that, if anything, is less effective than the original.

I still haven't read Blatty's revised version of The Exorcist (and neither have I read Legion, actually), although the original novel is one of my favourites. Anything substantially different aside from the addition of that new character?
