I wish beating overrated ACC teams would warrant a National Championship, hopefully Maryland could be #3 in 2-3 years if Fridge gets fired, if thats all it takes

They went 14-0 last year, have a shot at 12-0 this year, can't just keep saying no. Even if they get slaughtered it's still a win because they will probably stop whining about going.

27 game winning streak in regular games, that's an eye-opener that kind of makes the NCAA look bad they have to take action eventually, not sure why they weren't moved when they re-tooled all those other conferences.

Yeah they are a relevant quality team no denying that, but I think any quality team in that situation could put up the same or close to numbers against lesser competition.

Just like all those stats when the app states of the world upset big schools its like "last time a low ranked school beat a contender... 1941 " so the stats back up quality teams almost always dominating weaker teams.

Boise State is joining the Mountain West next year. Unfortunately the Mountain West is about to take a giant step backwards with the loss of Utah to the Pac-10 and BYU going independent, but it's still a much tougher conference than the WAC.

I think an undefeated Boise deserves a shot at the title if there aren't 2 undefeated teams from the Big 10, Big 12, SEC, or Pac-10. I can't put them in though if there are 2 undefeated teams from those conferences. Since the BCS started in 1999 the title games has featured 2 undefeated teams 5 times, with the other 7 matcups featuring at least 1 team with a loss. Boise plays 2 difficult games and 10 cupcake games. It's not their fault, I guarantee Boise would be willing to trade their 2 easy non-conference games for more difficult games but nobody is wiling to play them, but I still wouldn't be able to put them in over a team from a top-4 conference with the same record that plays a much more difficult scheudle.

Yahoo Sports is reporting the Heisman Trust has decided to strip Reggie Bush of his Heisman Trophy and will leave the award vacant for 2005 rather than award the trophy to runner-up Vince Young. Bush is the first person in the trophy's 75-year history to have his trophy stripped.

They may be willing to play the Vtechs or Oregon's of the world, but I'd doubt they'd be willing to go to Texas, OSU exc. twice a year just to try and prove a point. Or maybe they would and try to use the 1 loss argument

Totally agree on the first bolded part. If Boise State is undefeated, Ohio State is undefeated, and no other team is undefeated, Boise State should get the nod. If Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, and USC all have 1 loss to a top 10 team, they have good arguments. In any event, it's a great argument for a playoff.

Nobody? Virginia Tech just played them. UGA did recently, too. Are there no others from the BCS conferences?

Really hope UGA gets an answer this week regarding A.J. Green. South Carolina looks tough, and I want arguably one of the best WRs in football when we play them!

Wish I knew what the hell he did (or didn't do).

2005 UGA whipped them hard 48-13 . (not to mention that was a year before so pretty much the same team that beat an Oklahoma team that again wasn't as good as advertised)

I'll take A 1 loss SEC team that lost in conference any day and was able to win the SEC championship.

God forbid the day comes where its OSU v. Boise I'd have to root for OSU

I'm not saying nobody will play them, clearly V Tech and Oregon State are willing, I'm just saying they tried to fill their other 2 non-conference games with quality opponents but couldn't find any takers. Boise's AD offered to play a big-conference team at their home with no return game and couldn't find any takers. Most teams would rather schedule a I-AA team than bring in a Boise team that will likely beat them.

Just because he couldn't find one does not necessarily mean no one is willing to play them. Maybe schedules were already finalized, etc. Who knows.

EDIT: Found it. They include: Ole Miss, Utah, Oregon State, and BYU. Hopefully they get some other, better quality opponents.

Who needs to find better teams when you already can play an ACC team and get gushed on and already placed in AZ

Those are quality teams but still 2nd tier to the big boys.

My Hokies looked sloppy on the o-line last night, but BSU became undiciplined at the end of the game - first games are always tough. But in the end, it came down to who had the better 2min offense, and that is a place where VT has failed time and again. I knew we lost the game as soon as we gave the ball back to them.
