So i got mortal kombat ps3 steelbook and should be getting this week or next week Gears of war 2 display steelbook soul calibur steel for ps3 and 360 bad company ps3 steel and colin mcrae dirt steelbook all empty no discs.

Weirdly, Zavvi has the limited edition for 1 GBP cheaper than the regular edition and it's free shipping to the US...

That's just to get the orders in. Thats marketing nowadays. Less margin on products, as long as you get a order in. New customers which see this price through forums, will make an account and order. After that the news-mailings begin, in which an average of 17% will order again from that site.

This is much cheaper than other advertising-methods.

Well it's not a COD clone but I'm not sure about crap. Enemy Territory fans seem to like it. Also, reviewers only received Xbox 360 copies of the game. I think any reviews of the PC version will be a lot more favourable.

Let's not kid ourselves here. You're buying it for the metallic packaging, not for content. And the reviews are unfavorable in terms of repetition, not a marginal graphics difference.

i just recieved my copy of the Brink steelbook (PS3) from gamegears this morning but mine was in a G1 sized (DVD) steelbook case, i wanted to check with others if they have recieved the same sized case for the PS3 version or is it just me (typical), i have contacted gamegears about this and asked for the correct size case to be sent to me if its there mistake but they have yet to reply so we will see if this is the standard sized case for all versions (i hope not), if it was a mistake on there part they better have a spare G2 case for me as they have sold out from what i've seen on-line, i hope this is not the same for everyone as it just looks odd on the shelf next to other ps3 titles.

Please don't presume to know me. I had decided I wanted to play Brink long before the Steelbook edition was announced.

Also, I wasn't referring to 'a marginal graphics difference'. Regardless of the fact that a fast paced team based multiplayer FPS is always going to be a better experience on PC due to control fidelity, the Xbox 360 version of the game had various issues not present in the PC version such as crashes, texture loading bugs, hit detection and peer-to-peer lag.
