Does Seven Samurai still come as a digipack or was that just the initial pressings?

It comes in the same digipak Criterion has used since the DVD was re-issued years ago. It's a great set.

I watched Wenders' "Wrong Move" last night on FilmStruck (Apple TV), and there were a lot of annoying digital 'squeaks', something like feedback, on the audio track. Is this an issue on the disc?

I don't recall any issues when I last watched it in July. Do you recall which parts of the film where it was a problem? I can check the blu-ray.

So, I went to check. There's a noticeable example when they pull up to the rest stop; it can be heard over Wilhelm's voiceover.

I'm confused, because while it's there on the Apple TV, when I play it from my computer (MbPro>HDMI>TV) it's not there. I haven't noticed this sound on any other movie from FilmStruck, or any other sources on the Apple TV. Can anyone with an Apple TV and FilmStruck duplicate this? Timecode for rest stop scene is 1:20:00.

And to clarify, a better way to describe the noise is interference from a cell phone, little bleeps and beeps. But I've never experienced this interference with my current setup/phone, and I've had it for years.

I'd be very surprised if it isn't released on Blu-ray this year.

I've noticed that the Rebecca, Spellbound and Notorious BDs are out of print. Do you think it's possible Criterion got the rights to re-release them? After all, they did release them on DVD before.

If anyone re-releases them, it would probably be Kino Lorber.

Yeah, Kino Lorber just signed a deal with Disney and Rebecca at least is a Selznick production (if memory serves me right), so they're likely Disney properties. I'm not sure about the other two, but Rebecca is likely to come from Kino Lorber.

All three are a part of the Selznick library, as is the Paradine Case which Kino announced just yesterday that they are releasing on blu-ray.

Do you know how MGM had them if Disney already had rights to the Selznick library? Unless Disney just got rights to that library?

Yeah, I was wondering that too.

The Selznick library is part of the larger ABC library. That library was licensed to MGM by Disney at one time which is why MGM released DVDs of Hell in the Pacific, Prizzi's Honor, Junior Bonner, Charly etc.

$31.84? Not that great of a deal, considering it'll be $25 some time in the next few weeks. It's definitely a must own though.

Yeah I know it's not that much of a deal but July is still 16 weeks away and I'm buying at least 1 Criterion a month on sales or ebay. Any discount is fine with me as long as I can grow my collection steadily month to month. I'm also saving to buy the big sets during the B&N sales.
