Reforge just means re rolling for different perks.

You can upgrade any old weapons to the new HoW max by using a new item, it doesn't reset any stats either so win win.

Can't really see any negatives to the new expansion. Pretty much everything they are introducing is a step forward.

I really hope this means what I think it does. If I upgrade a fully specced old weapon (i.e. one that has all upgrades unlocked and paid for) that it won't reset back to zero when I make it a HoW weapon? I really hated the way you "upgraded" vanilla gear to Crota gear. No reason all my progress and materials should have been wiped if I'm already paying 7000 glimmer and other materials.

Yep, you just need the new item (I forgot it's name since I watched the stream) and glimmer and weapon parts/material depending on the gun and hit upgrade and its attack is maxed out and you keep all your upgrades.

-----Weapon Upgrade Paths-----

All weapons will gain an "Ascend" bubble on the left of the tree. Shadow Price (!!!) for example.

Ascend is the new upgrade path to 365. Looks like all gear can "ascend" for the right price. New economy of Ephiric Light earned from PoE and other weekly events. Picture of Etheric Light upgrade bubble. Etheric Light in inventory.

Was stated there is no cap on the amount you can get other than how many activities you can run in a week.

Xur isn't required to upgrade exotics anymore. It's done via the "Ascend" bubble.

Ooooooh. I'm stocking up on alladem sons of *****es right nah. No point to having Xur upgrade shit now or doing anything to upgrade exotics when a simple Etheric Light/Exotic Shard will run that hoe up to its necessary level.

But I thought that when you reforged a weapon in IB, you completely reset all its bubbles that you had unlocked. Will this be the same for reforging HoW weapons? If you re forge you still lose all your progression.

you will lose all your bubble progress when you reforge. just reforge before you level it up.

So if I was to reforge my Fatebringer, for example, I would spend Glimmer, Spinmetal / Helium / Spirit / Relic, and 1 Etheric Light.

Would that immediately give me 365 or...would I need to unlock every slot again or just repurchase the slots?

Reforge and upgrading to the ne HoW attack stat are different.

Reforge will be the same as IB reforging so you lose all progression.

Upgrading will only upgrade your attack stat and not delete your progress since you don't get new perks.

Well, as far as regular bounties go there aren't any new ones (at least Deej didn't say there were). The bounty Tracker as he stands is the same as the one in the tower.

There are loads of new NPCs that you will need to go to the reef for. The Reef still has postmaster vault and gunsmith etc. So everything you could do in the tower you can do in the reef. But there are new things you can only do in the Tower now like go to the speaker to exchange various things for glimmer/motes/shards/energy.
