[Show spoiler] ![]() You could argue for a different design (Bat symbol, silhouette, Gotham skyline, whatever), but I like these franchise sets to use something understated and iconic. Star Wars, Alien, Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter all do this for their complete collections, and it's, to repeat myself, great. It makes the story the focus rather than the actors playing the part. And yeah, lots of films do it, especially for individual releases, but I don't care for it. Floating heads are boring. I'll take poster art, illustrations, paintings, or some creative, franchise capturing, design over photoshopped publicity stills any day. But yeah, to each his own. But since I like the official design, I win. ![]() ![]() |

I personally don't feel like it captures Nolan's Batman at all. It reminds me more of the 90's batman more than anything. I also hate the overly blue shiny look of it. If anything I'd rather something much more toned down, like this
![]() or something like the art and making of book (I realize this is pretty rough) ![]() Last edited by MifuneFan; 10-11-2012 at 12:54 AM. |

Was wondering about this as well. They still have steelbook version for previous films in my store which I am getting today but cannot pre order this steelbook version yet.

I think I've pre-ordered every conceivable version of this except the steelbook (with Gold Box discounts, etc.). As long as it's not overpriced, I'll pick this up to go along with the steelsbooks of the first two and cancel the others.

Steelbook all the way. No need to buy a digibook when you can get the Art & Making of TDK Trilogy. Which is a much better companion to the films then a digibook could ever be.
I agree with Mifunefan. There doesn't seem to be an over arcing picture for the trilogy. While each individual film has great artwork and represents it's story very well. There really is no long lasting image that captures the spirit of all three films. |
