Bummer, that Millennium Falcon bed costs $4,000! Someone has to come out with a cheaper (but just as good) bed right? Where's Ikea on this?

My Mum just rang from ASDA Living as they've had the new stock in today, I was looking for a Rey as well, but they only had the smaller figures, but amazingly a gentleman had a Black Series Rey in his hands and offered it to her!

What a lovely gesture by a kind-hearted stranger. Hopefully he'll get some amazing karma for his random act of kindness.

A ticket to the premier of The Force Awakens would be wonderful karma.

He masterminded the fall of both the Jedi and the republic, then get to rule the whole galaxy. That's something.
Palpatine is a damn amazing villain. Seeing him manipulate everyone and everything throughout the saga and his ascension to power in the PT is a delight. Ian McDiarmid played him to perfection, and I'd love to see him appear in a cameo in Rogue One.

Welcome aboard the hype train, my friend.

I'm almost as excited for the soundtrack as I am the movie, I can't wait to hear what Williams comes up with.

Just preordered the soundtrack on Amazon. I kinda wish they could make a deluxe edition or something with bonus tracks, like they did with the Hobbit movies and the OT soundtracks. Regardless, I can't wait to hear it.

I haven't been this excited over a Star Wars soundtrack since TPM back in '99 (and that was a pretty awesome score imo, it was one of those things that sticks out to me that made that summer feel special).

The behind the scenes teaser was 6 days after the 4th of July at the U.S. San Diego Comic Convention.

The full trailer will orbit some large holiday or event. And the release will become a global event. It could be this weekend...you know...three-day holiday weekend for Labor Day and all.
The reality is that Disney doesn't have to do much of anything. Maybe a short teaser campaign just before release so people know it's actually opening. While they'll probably spend a few hundred $million in promotion, I personally think it's a waste of money. Everybody who cares already is anxiously awaiting this film, good or bad. The film is going to be huge, even if the geeks don't like it.

My personal feeling is that too much is spent on film marketing. Films are advertised on TV and cable so far in advance of their opening that by the time the films are actually released to theaters, I think it's already come and gone. And the ads are repeated so many times (and I don't even watch all that much TV), it actually becomes an annoyance.

If they spent less on marketing, films wouldn't have to gross so much to be successful and profitable. And if they didn't have to gross so much, they could be made for less money and almost every film wouldn't have to be a popcorn, comic-book, action movie and we could get a few more intelligent films for adults.

I'm sure this next Star Wars film is going to be great in its own way, but I doubt very much that it will be described as either "adult" or "intelligent".
