You are right. What I am telling you is that Netflix hits 1080p at (sometimes less) 3Mbps. You can see the jump happening as the stream firms up. The link you provided is what Netflix recommends.

In other words, someone with a 3-4 Mbps broadband connection can get a very steady 1080p stream. This has been the case since Netflix used the EyeIO or Magiceye compression software ( I’m sure Wendell will know what it’s called, sorry can’t remember but it’s something like that).

I got it regularly with a 4Mbps connection a few years back and my nephew gets full HD now with a 3Mbps connection. He is due to move soon so like me, will get fibre.

Ooh, I like that chart better as it clearly shows that it is possible to stream with zero download and zero upload speeds; I think I can cancel my internet service and still stream!

I am the one who first posted that gif; I knew its size when I selected it.

Then you go and repost it in your reply to me in order to "inform" me of its size? You clearly thought it was too large and then you cause it to appear twice. You were bellyaching about it while at the same time reposting it thereby making no sense whatsoever.

If you were trying to reduce our carbon footprint by reposting a gif that you felt was too large, then job well done. Bravo.
