Who do you think they'll go after or consider? I heard that Mark Stoops is on the list.

I read this morning that Tom Herman is very high on our list.

He's high on everyone's list. Including USuCk from the mighty SEC. Although they also want Kirby Smart for some reason too. What's funny about that is USuCk is a better job than Miami. Ouch that hurts doesn't it?

Why would they consider him? He's horrible HC and Alabama's offense isn't lighting it up.

Just a gut feeling, really.

I've read that Miami's budget for a head coach is about $3M, which is pretty low for that region of the country. I also think that the Miami administration is not particularly dedicated to bringing them back to where they were 15 years ago and before.

For whatever reason, Kiffin is a good salesman and will find a HC job somewhere. Why not a place with lower expectations and less resources than his last HC job location?

As I'm sure Justin Fuente is, too.

The question is will Miami go out and try to hire the best HC available or will they insist that their next hire have Miami coaching/playing roots? USC went this last direction for their last two hires (Kiffin/Sarkisian), both of which were a disaster for USC standards.

I've read that Herman likely wouldn't have much interest in Miami. He's already complaining about the lack of fan support at Houston and the empty seats at games, and that's a problem that would be even worst at Miami. He supposedly wants to be at a school that is crazy about football like he experienced during his time at Ohio State.

That's the internal debate going on as we speak. There's some within the university that want a 'south Florida' guy.

A lot of voters are biased towards SEC teams.

Baylor quarterback Seth Russell is out for the year. Baylor now turns to true freshman Jarrett Stidham as they enter the hardest portion of their schedule with a road game to Kansas State, a home game against #14 Oklahoma, at #12 Oklahoma State, at #5 TCU, and home against Texas.

Tough break. Hopefully he can make a full recovery, it sounds like a pretty significant injury.

Minnesota coach Jerry Kill retired this morning effective immediately due to medical issues. Kill has epilepsy and that has led to him having seizures which forced him to miss multiple games. Kill was the 2014 Big 10 Coach of the Year and led the Gophers to bowl games the last 3 seasons.

This is the third Big 10 job to become open during the season, as Illinois and Maryland had already fired their coaches. It likely won't be the last opening, as the coaches of Purdue, Rutgers, and potentially Indiana are also on the hot seat.

You catch any clips from his press conference? Man, was that hard to watch. Pure and raw emotion. God bless him. I hope he can get his health in order.

If a coach is wanting to go somewhere that has a strong fan base, stays up to date with their facilities, and wants to get paid then Miami is NOT the place to go.

I'm hoping after a few seasons at Houston he will come back to Ohio St to replace Urban. I know Urban will not be and Ohio St forever so I hope he comes back eventually.

I agree that Herman likely wants to go back to Ohio State, it's just a question if he stays at Houston while he waits for the job. Urban Meyer is only 51 so it's not likely he couldn't stay at Ohio State for a decade if he stays healthy and doesn't get burnt out. Houston is a pretty young team and has a good recruiting class so they should be even better next year, so it's not a situation where Herman needs to jump at a job just because his stock is high. However, if he's offered the South Carolina job I'd think he'd at least have to give it serious thought, and Southern Cal could be even more attractive to Herman than Ohio State since Herman grew up in California.

It probably is but Southern Cal has swallowed up the last few coaches there. I think Southern Cal needs to hit a home run right now and not go after the up and comer. They've tried that two times in a row and it back fired. They need to go big like Chip Kelly or another current NFL coach (Jeff Fisher) kind of big.

Last year the FL/GA game was cold and very windy in the 50's, but tomorrow will be in the 80's Not sure if we'll be heading downtown this year since tomorrow is Halloween.
