The ACC has suspended the officiating crew and replay officials from the Miami-Duke game for 2 weeks. The ACC said the crew should have ruled the runner down, missed a block in the back, and should have penalized Miami when a player from Miami came on the field during the play, although that penalty wouldn't have negated the touchdown. They also said the refs should have better explained that the flag for a different block in the back was being picked up prior to the replay.

So we're at a point now where the college football playoff committee just said "screw it, nobody can stop us so why bother hiding how political and corrupt the system is."

Doesn't mean a thing but it's still f'ing cool as hell to be #1! First time since I was 7. I hope it ends the same way that season did. Looking forward to Saturday.

The lack of a conference title game could very well come to haunt the Big XII again. They're the only Power Five conference without one.

The thing I wonder is what happens if Mississippi and Alabama both win out. In that scenario two-loss Mississippi would win the SEC West and Alabama would finish 11-1. Let's say hypothetically Clemson, the Big 12 champ, and the Big 10 champ all finish undefeated. For the final spot would the committee put an Alabama team in the playoff that didn't win their own division, much less conference, over say a 12-1 Stanford or Utah that won the Pac-12 or 11-1 Notre Dame that doesn't play in a conference (Stanford and Notre Dame play so at least one of them would have multiple losses)?

I hope that happens. I also hope Memphis wins out. What do you do with that when put a beat down on the SEC champion? As long as we get to 8 teams sooner than later.

No they haven't. Appalachian State is an FBS team now and they're 7-1 with all their wins by at least 18 points and in first place in the Sun Belt. Not a marquee win but their non-conference schedule with Wofford, App State, Notre Dame, and at South Carolina is harder than most of the schools in the rankings.

I hope Memphis goes undefeated. I think that would be an epic turnaround. If they keep having success, I'm wondering if they might get an invite from the Big 12 should they choose to expand one day...Memphis would give them not only a foothold in TN but also Arkansas...not to mention they have a tradition of great basketball teams and would help WV some.

Richt to the U? They've had talks and agreed to terms only if he gets fired. That way there is no buyout for Miami, Richt continues to get paid because he gets UGA and Miami salary. This is the only explanation for the craziness going on in Athens.

UGA moved their former 2nd string QB (who was 3rd string last week) to punter. And he started at punter today. After 2 drives, he's in at QB.

If they lose to this UGA team right now UK should just stop playing football. UGA is a dumpster fire at best. Rumors about Pruitt down there are great! What a dis functional piece of crap that guy is. I think Richt is gone but GT could make that a certainty with a win this year.

Someone pull UNC off of Duke! My goodness.

Hard to win when you're shooting yourself in the foot the entire game. Vandy game is CRITICAL.
