I watched Tangled last night (for the first time). Decent 3D throughout although I didn't think the lantern scene was quite as spectacular as I had been led to believe. Really enjoyed it overall, though.

I then watched IMAX Under the Sea 3D. My jaw dropped. Crystal clear images and really strong 3D that looked stunning on my 106" screen. I was so impressed that as soon as it finished I scoured the web for more IMAX 3D BluRays and bought a load more!

I loved Dr. Strange, can’t imagine watching it in 2D. Hey the villain was the same bad guy from Casino Royale.

Hi Okie,

LOL

I have that video. A 1954 adaption appearing on the anthology series "Climax" with Barry Nelson starring as CIA agent "Jimmy" Bond.

The villan in that one was Peter Lorrie. And I'm 68.

Just ordered "Sheep & Wolves" (Völlig von der Wolle - Ein määährchenhaftes Kuddelmuddel), a 2017 Russian animated film, from Amazon DE. Believe it was produced by the same who did the Snow Queen series. With shipping only cost $8.49:US.

Overall, the 3D, animation and story all got high marks. You might have to translate this to English.

https://www.amazon.de/Völlig-von-Wo...pe=all_reviews

It is region B but with English audio.

Anybody have this?

Bought and watched Drive Angry 3D. I saw the last third or so on a basic cable channel a few months ago and was intrigued. Even in 2D you could tell it would be more fun in 3D. All that stuff flying at the screen! I grabbed it cheap from a “Fulfilled by Amazon” vendor. Lots of fun but seeing those vintage muscle cars getting beat up was painful!

I watched Comin’ at Ya! last night. Most gimmicky 3D outside of a theme park attraction (actually it probably has more frequent pop-outs than most theme park 3D attractions!). It’s basically pointless watching this in 2D. The pop-outs are at times so extreme that you need to cross your eyes to see them properly.

Overall I had fun with this but I can’t see myself revisiting it very often. Every 3D nut needs to see it at least once but it’s not the most comfortable viewing experience and it’s not a particularly good film either.

I understand that the black and white scenes in this, plus the other scenes where the colours have been mucked about with, were in full colour in the original release. I would have preferred them to have left the colours alone to be honest; I wasn’t a fan of this effect.

Hi Joe,

Yes, but I haven't viewed it in awhile.
Plays region-free.

Hi Okie,

Both born the same year I'm sure we share many memories.

I dub a lot of movies onto DVDR and that second Casino Royale was one of them but it was bad, even as satire, that I discarded it.

Hi pesta,

Was my pleasure.

Only got it a few days ago but will let everyone know how it was when I do.

Did you order it? There was one inexpensive copy left from the same vendor I used.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for letting me know. I'll try and print your well done art work too. Maybe it is region free and the info was written wrong.

Watched It Came From Outer Space last night. Great movie and excellent 3D. The telescope scene was impressive.

Watched last night, had a couple of scenes just as impressive as that telescope scene, movie wasn't as good as ICFOS though.

Just got around to watching "Sing".

A very enjoyable animated feature with a well thought out plot with some very touching moments, character development and, of course, stand out vocals. This older guy appreciated including "lollipop" by the chordettes and "take five" by the Dave Brubeck quartet.

Definitely enhanced by the very good use of 3D. It wasn't overpowering as it was the depth spaced out perfectly. Combined with the first rate Dolby True audio, this was a fun watch.
