The Dark Knight Rises dvd has only one disc with one Special feature.
But check this one DVD that Excel entertainment is offering in India in PAL format-
http://www.flipkart.com/dark-knight-...er=from-search

Its a 2-Disc edition! Same no. of Special Features as The Blu Ray!
Sadly, no 1.44:1 IMAX sequences though, unlike last time.

Sucks to hear but it's already being confirmed no extended or director's cut from Chris Nolan on the blu-ray release
I'm a little late to this thread but I agree with this and I'm not buying the movie because of it. I thought there were too many gaps in the movie...Stuff that was cut out that should not have been. Plus, a friend and I saw this on the same night and time as -you know what- in Colorado happened and we're both completely turned off from it. I told her the only way I'll ever see it again is if it's a different cut of the movie...Nope, guess I'll be waiting a long time or perhaps forever.

Nolan will never do an extended cut. The best you'll get is the deleted scenes as a supplement and even that's asking a lot.

Exactly, Nolan has his "Codes". He's Batman's creator( in TDK trilogy), of course he'll have CODES like Batman does! His "One Rule" is never to do any extended cut or show any deleted scenes. Now that sound like two codes, but is actually one... Confused? So am I!

The DVD of TDK didn't have the IMAX sequences either, only the Blu-Ray did, same story this time.

Have there been multiple editions then? I've seen about 2 or 3 copies of the DVD that have been completely in 2.40:1, or was it a territorial difference? Because i thought they were only special features on the DVD, and not integrated into the movie like the Blu-ray version.

Yes, though the individual overhead shots and some random ones( Batman racing to rescue Rachel, Batman standing on a pile of burned down rubbles after Rachel's death, etc) are missing, which can be found Full Frame in the 4:3 Full Screen DVD, where the IMAX scenes look much more impressive in terms of framing(vertigo) than the Blu Ray ones! That's my opinion anyway.

I think I'm going to go with the Target exclusive Digibook...love the cover art plus the 25-page comic depicting the prologue from the film plus 7 pages of filmmaker concept art sounds good

If a person didn't know about the film, or Batman, he might think The Dark Knight Rises is referring to Bane( as in the Digibook ).

Target apparently has 2 versions of the exclusive Digibook, one with Batman on the cover and one with Bane so people can choose which they prefer

I don't want to live in that America. The America where a citizen doesn't know who Batman is. Aside from Spider-Man or Superman, he's the most popular comic book character in the world.
