Looks like 7 does have a race according to the trailers (Race Wars. Looked like a Hemi 'cuda vs. Audi R8).

5 had all of them racing each other in police cars and 6 had Dom vs. Letty.

I thought the Lucas Black character was tossed around for previous installments but nothing came of it? Has there been any recent comment on his involvement in the next installment?

My understanding of the Lucas Black situation, and this contract was finalized before the death of Paul Walker, is that Black would appear in Furious 7 in a small role, and then upgrade to a bigger role in a theoretical Fast 8 and Fast 9.
