KoTM suffered from not realising cinemas have very poorly calibrated dark scenes and that made all the more difficult following the action scenes. Personally i have yet to re-watch the movie on streaming as i've not seen it up.

Scored today. Grown ass man shopping around with a cart full of toys here.

They have one slight advantage of the Bandai America, Lanyard, and Jakk's Pacific toys... these actually have some figures that scale together. Always found it so weird that Bandai made fighting Godzilla figures with nothing to fight and Jakk's made 6-inch figures for Ghidorah and Rodan but 10 inches for Godzilla. The only thing that scaled where the 3-4 inch figures, which sadly Playmates isn't doing for their line.

Nice haul! I also spy some Jurassic World Mattel figures, thank god Hasbro lost the licence, they look awesome too.

If I had the money, and shelf space, I'd love to get a few of Mattel's JW figures.

Yep those were the two I got today (they had the Camp Cretaceous Parasaurolophus too but I scored that one the other day at another store).
I wish we could get low-end Godzilla figures that looked as good as Mattel's Jurassic. Even when the final product doesn't match the prototype it still looks almost as good.

(If you're wondering what the green thing in my cart is)

This is at or near the top of my list of most anticipated films of 2021, but nope, not a chance.

As for
[Show spoiler]Mecha King Ghidorah
, I'd rather we got Destoroyah at some point in the MonsterVerse if it were to continue past this film.

This movie needs to hit roughly $600M WW. I'm hoping it's out right when everyone can't wait to get back to the theater.

A new virtual Godzilla event has been announced. Earlier tonight, TOHO revealed the first poster for Godzilla Festival 2020 Online.

No further information is currently known about the convention. Godzilla Festival 2020 Online will take place on November 3rd.°°°°

Might be a good place to debut some GvK footage.

Apologize if this has been brought up a hundred times. When can we expect a trailer for this?

Major Major Spoilers, If You Can Resist and Wait till the movie releases... Stay away.

Tag It Do Not Discuss Openly

Quote:

These leaks are from 4chan from a guy named Ken..

The movie is more Science Fiction and Horror than the previous films; the film(GvK) feels like a merging of Alien(Horror) and Aliens(Scifi/Action).

Running time is under but around two hours.

The Playmates toyline is pretty spot on in terms of recreating scenes with the figures.

Several new Titans and and returning ones, Rodan is briefly mentioned about going into hibernation, No Mothra. New Titans include: Warbat(Nozuki), a giant praying mantis with a cone like head, a Sphinx looking monster, a sea serpent and a couple I cant really pinpoint a origin.

All shared moments with Godzilla and Kong: Aircraft carrier (Fight 1, around 2-3 minutes.) Hong Kong (Fight 2, around 5 minutes, no cuts; straight monster action.) Hollow Earth (Weakened Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla, Kong shows up after Godzilla is about to be killed.) Hollow Earth(2) (Godzilla and Kong vs. Mechagodzilla)

Points of interest(Non Battle and Godzilla/Kong moments):

King Ghidorah chained to a giant stone with runes on it, being harvested for organs, mainly it's brain and some unknown ones.

Cyborg Skullcrawlers, brief scenes shows Skullcrawlers that had their mouth and legs replaced with machinery, one being a mounted unit, which bucks it's rider's cage off and smashes it's head on it, the other being a drone unit that refused to work, promptly killed by Kong(Seen on it's camera).

Hollow Earth introduction is like the boat ride from Willy Wonka, it's hellish, colorful and you know it's leading to something bad. Also while in the Hollow Earth, Godzilla, Kong, Mechagodzilla have different colors.

Human characters getting killed, obviously toned down and PG-13; eaten, gored, torn apart, melted by acid from an Hollow Earth creature, few have their heads exploded by a small monster bat/bird's screech to name some.

Monarch Tech; Anti-gravity vehicles, a transport and "scout" units, the massive transport carrier for Kong, plasma weapons both human and Titan sized, and Mechagodzilla.

Hollow Earth Origins and cave art.

Ghidorah's body and organs(Unknowingly) lead to Monarch's anti-gravity and plasma weapons.

Mechagodzilla has three forms in the film, Normal state, Berserk state(Glows red) and mutated state.

He can't fly, but can hover short distances, this is used to out maneuver Godzilla.

Weapons: He can fire special missiles that discharge Godzilla's nuclear energy, Powerful plasma cannons in mouth and chest, Hands are able to grapple and lock Godzilla's arm in place, tail can act as a piercing weapon.

Kong's Axe is made from a broken piece of a dead Godzilla's dorsal spike and a dead titan's bone(Possibly the dead Godzilla's leg bone). The Axe can also be charged with radiation/energy and send out an EMP like pulse when struck.

The Hong Kong battle is started because one of the human characters(Villain) uses a signal/radio station to broadcast a signal to attract Godzilla and Kong, a plot to cause massive collateral damage and human death.

Kong uses a Ferris wheel to attack Godzilla, I'm guessing this will be the "Tree in mouth" moment of the film.

Godzilla gets Kong's axe to the chest, knocking both back with the pulse. Kong his first to get up making him look like the winner until Godzilla's silhouette appears behind him and blasts him with his atomic breath, scorching Kong's arm badly.

Ghidorah's brain acts as a power source for Mechagodzilla, it starts to regenerate during the last fight, breaking partly out of Mechagodzilla and looking like an cyborg abomination.

Godzilla has a new red beam attack that flares out into spewing flames like napalm. On request I will draw anything or answer anything

The director said there would be a definitive winner, not someone would die.

Godzilla is the winner of both fights, it's pretty one sided but Kong puts up a good fight.

Ending, Mechagodzilla explodes, causing a chain reaction in the chamber of the Hollow Earth. This resulting in Skull Island getting sunk into the collapsing chamber and trapping Godzilla and Kong. Godzilla actually saves Kong allowing him to escape, showing his intelligence.

There are two post credit/mid credit scenes.

One shows a Monarch aircraft investigating a radiation spike near the North pole, a massive chunk of the ice is seen in the water facing the aircraft, which the camera pans around and shows a frozen "Baby" Godzilla through the ice, unknown to the pilots.

Second is a man walking down a hallway(Black reflective walls and floor, red lights) to a conference room, most the people in the room's faces aren't seen due to the darkness of the room. The man sets a folder and flash drive on the table to I guess the boss, the boss says something on the lines of "We all know why we're here, lets get started.". The screen behind the man lights up showing "Operaton: Destroy All Monsters" and some type of blueprint that's half cut off by the screen but looks like a monster/robot.

That sounds pretty awesome. As long as it's true that Godzilla isn't killed by Kong then I'm good with it.

All of the spoilers sound like a fun ride, thus far. I'm glad Legendary is progressively going more and more balls-to-the-wall with each installment, and fearlessly embracing the weird history of the franchise!
