I've been hearing that they've basically reworked the game's core mechanics for the expansion and the game will be updated for free when it drops. Based on what I've heard it's pretty a expansive change. Like Armor isn't tied to clothing anymore, but it's tied to Cyberware and you can only have so much on before it hinders you.

I'm excited for this expansion.

It's been a few months since I played but from what I recall the current build really, really wants you to play a cyberware heavy stealth build. If you're not having cyberattacks do most of your damage you are going to struggle. For much of the early part of the game the only weapon damage I'm doing is using an Igla to mop up anyone who wises up and comes after me. And even then I have to pick and choose my battles carefully. The game almost becomes too easy if you choose this approach.

Apparently PS5 version is free is you have PS4 and you can save transfer so I might play the DLC then. Might wait until it's less expensive though lol.

I've been replaying this on PC since I wanted to get one more chance to experience the game before the big update. My first playthrough of the game was a bit rocky and I didn't figure out what kind of weapons and skills I wanted to use until I was nearly finished, so it's been fun to play through it again knowing how I want to actually approach the gameplay.

It will be interesting to revisit it again after they overhaul everything for the expansion. I hope they do some QOL updates like allowing you to more easily skip through some of the tedious story segments and they really need to fix how the radio works. Some new songs would be nice but I really hate how they interrupt songs for the news broadcasts and then that same news broadcast is also playing on every other station so there is no way to avoid it, even if you're already heard it a dozen times. It shouldn't be hard to just make the radio stations functions properly.

I don't even remember that about the radio lol. The radio did introduce me to one of my favorite songs, I Really Want To Stay At Your House, which I've listened to hundreds of times.

And we all know how popular that song is because of Edgerunners, I got exposed to that song because of it's popularity from the show. I just never listened to the station it was usually on in the game when I played. Damn good song though.

Oh I haven't watched Edgerunners lol. But that's cool. The song just feels like Cyberpunk.

I just had to look up "I Really Want To Stay At Your House" and I don't think I'd ever heard it before. That's another funny thing about the radio in the game--it feels like I mostly just head the same handful of songs over and over, even though I regularly switch stations to try and find something I actually like. My friend's band has a song that plays on the Morro Rock station and in 40 hours of playtime I only heard it come on once.

Idris Elba is a good actor. That's cool. Too bad the CGI trailer makes the game pale in comparison but also shows why there should've been a 3rd person view of these characters during gameplay. IMO.

If they added 3rd person, I'd consider it.

Trailer a few months ago showed off some more Keanu, I'm willing to bet he has substantial amount of stuff with this expansion. Not needed for this CG cinematic.

I also read this, which tells you when Phantom Liberty kicks in:

That's actually further in the game than I thought it was going to be, so if folks already started a playthrough and are just doing gigs and sidequests, no need to panic. There's plenty to do.

I just pulled the patch down. Deciding if I want to at least check out the game, but I'm resisting as I'm still in the middle of Starfield which although I'm really enjoying, I love the Cyberpunk world WAY more and I know if I jump in I'll end up delaying one of the two times I've paid the extra for early release like I did with Starfield.

The problem is I'm not willing to replay to get to this unless they allow me to bring over my PS4 save, which they currently don't. If there's no autopop, ok fine I'll deal. But I'm not replaying.

Starting from scratch is the best way to play and do it on the PS5 . PS4 content is over.
