$30+ for a standard 4k release of this feels like highway robbery.

That's around what I paid for the limited edition Blu-ray.

Shout Factory charges $30 for dusty 2k shop exclusive Blu ray drops and their fans lick it up like gravy that ran off a biscuit, there's no way a $30 Arrow isn't a much better value. I think the price for this on Amazon is clocked a little high, as all their discs are at the moment, they are charging $50 for Ghoulies II (lol). But with BestBuy gone this seems to have become the way things are. There are no more $9.99 UHD sales on good stuff, now stuff is like $13.99 and I'm like eh pass. Just compare Gruv's prices on dump bin UHD titles compared to what they were. Winter has come it's pay to play now.

Criterion wants $50 per 4k when it's not sale month. My Arrow standards are always around $30, limited editions not much more than that even. Tremors and its sequel are literally perfect kitchen sink discs, I would have paid Criterion MSRP for them.

Criterion’s MSRP for a 4K is $50 but they are never actually that price. They are always $40 on the website. Still more than Arrow though and with Arrow we get an FIM encode.

I finally got my hands on the Limited Edition 4K for a decent amount, so happy to have it in my collection finally. One of my favorite films from when I was a kid!

Finally got a copy of the steelbook for the correct price of $25. Hopefully the Blu-Ray version goes under $13 someday.

I love the Steelbook design. Reminds me of a paperback from 1979

I watched my UK Standard edition last night and was very impressed. I had never seen the film before so I checked here and watched it with the DTS-HD MA 4.0 track, which has some nice surround effects. But the scan here is really terrific, with lovely grain and wonderful detail. I had the misfortune of seeing Final Destination Bloodlines (no colon, by the way) in Dolby Cinema yesterday and seeing Tremors for the first time completely washed that experience away for me. It's a very fun movie, even if the language edits to secure a PG-13 on appeal are obvious.

It's a shame that I don't think they ever got Kevin Bacon back to do any of the sequels with Fred Ward, as they have such great chemistry that I was surprised they didn't
[Show spoiler]just make the characters brothers
. But I'm sitting down to watch Universal's Making Perfection documentary (complete with Universal logo at the beginning) and the version on the 4K UHD is 31:07 and appears to be native 4K resolution. Unfortunately, Arrow made a second disc with extended interviews and short films exclusive to the Limited Edition, but they were upfront about that from the beginning and the disc is a Blu-ray, so it doesn't sting quite as badly.

The 5.1 track is a remix. The 2.0 surround and 4.0 surround are the original theatrical tracks. I don't remember any foley differences but the 4.0 track is my go-to.
