What happened with the adult titles CS were planning? Still in the pipeline or dead in the water?

It’s more like what happened to Culture Shock? Ever since their split from VS they’ve kind of disappeared off the radar.

It's a one man operation now, but I know CS has been working on new releases. Jason has explained he left to focus on his own writing and Warren Xian founded Art Label.

Looking forward to seeing the announcement and finalised details of this Culture Shock release, Dark Romances. Anthology films (and TV series) have been one of my film and TV interests as time has gone on.

Same here It will be good to read up on the details when they come out. Will also be good just to see them become more active again. It seems to take former partner labels a few months to gain their footing again once they get new partners/distribution

CSR-003 - Creeptales (DVD)
CSR-004 - Death Collector
CSR-005 - Cannibal Hookers (2019)
I did place this order back on March 4th. Order still hasn’t shipped. I emailed them last week to see what is up and I got no reply. Are they pretty flakey on shipping orders off their site?

I was a bit slow in being up to speed with Culture Shock's releases to date, but have slowly collected some of them. While I haven't been interested in all of their titles, I've remained interested in what they have in the works.

Got a shipping email today. Well, it shows a shipping label has been printed. I won’t get too excited until tracking shows a package is in the hands of the USPS.

Not sure. What was their last release, Night of the B@stard? They seemed to have fallen off the face of the planet. Hope they pick back up again, and soon...

They had a lot of cool releases planned. I hope those films still come out.

I'm sure they previously mentioned some Erotic Thriller titles were planned. I hope that is still the case.

It's now been 1 calendar year since Culture Shock left OCN as I'm pretty sure the last release was June of 2023 (Virgin High) which would make the 1 year anniversary 11 days away

As far as I can tell they've only released Night of the Bastard since leaving.

The thing is, couldn’t they have easily released their planned adult titles under the Melusine umbrella as a partner label? I am not seeing how it was a better option to leave.

Their implosion feels like it has a lot less to do with leaving OCN than with Warren leaving to do his own thing with Art Label. CS had several releases before OCN after all.

Never heard of Art Label but judging by its website it's similar to TV or CS

These guys have created a Z list OCN

I'm not sure leaving worked out as planned but without knowing the fine details I can't say it was the wrong decision. For all we know they were going to go belly up with the revenue they generated from OCN anyhow. Regardless at a rate of 1 release a year it's not ideal. This time last year I thought CS was going to give VS mainline a run for its money. Oh Boy was I wrong lol

As an outsider looking in, it seems like the majority of imprints that have left OCN have seen a drop off (outside of maybe TV) which makes me wonder how viable physical media really is in 2024 when talking about some of these grindhouse and niche titles. The VS website and it's subscription model might be what's keeping these films alive along with a handful of boutique shops whereas Amazon, B&N, Deep Discount were doing a lot 5-10 years ago.
