EDIT: I just checked, and it allows me to place an order (probably because they use shopify) but I'm not risking it. They may just cancel orders placed from the USA. Theoretically media is supposed to be exempt from tariffs but from what I have heard this may or may not even be honored since customs/domestic carriers are woefully unprepared and unfamiliar with policy. The current rate for the United Kingdom to USA is 10% so I would assume that it would not be more than that. Again, I would not risk it because anecdotal stories have shown that no one really knows anything concrete. It's almost like they should have thought this through and prepared for it before implementing it!
I placed a preorder last night and so far, they haven’t cancelled it.

Pre-orders should be safe, the shipping suspension is meant to be a temporary measure while they navigate the cluster**** that is shipping to the USA right now. Hopefully the media exemption stays and isn't closed as a "loophole." I know that some countries can still send parcels marked as gifts valued less than $100 tariff free but I don't expect that to last (and obviously this only applies to personally mailed items and not to businesses). Importing has truly become a nightmare for Americans.

So I just received the City Hunter: Angel Dust Steelbook from Anime-On-Line Via Royal Mail/USPS today. When I had ordered it I left a note in the order that they should hold it until my other two steelbooks for Ergo Proxy and Lain were ready to ship at the end of September, but evidently they ignored my message and shipped it on it's own.

Anyway, the Customs declarations says it shipped from MVM on Friday, August 29, and they marked it as "Discs for Laser Reading Systems, Recorded" with a value of £10. It made it to my mailbox with no extra charges. I guess my package came right down to the wire for them to ship it via Royal Mail!

It was shipped in a cardboard wing-wrap, and made the journey in perfect condition.

That's reassuring. I hope that the media/recordings exemption stays in place (and is enforced properly) so I can at least buy music/movies from abroad. I am not brave enough to risk buying any figures since many are made in China and consequently tariffed at the highest tier.

Printed media for Japan is fine through DHL Express, but if you're ordering figures, yeah you're getting hit with tariffs. Look at the post below for more.

No - it will have roughly the same height as a regular Blu-ray, just square shaped.
Not insanely oversized
