Has anyone here tried this? Was he successful? How quick was he? Any responses would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Anybody have any feedback/input on my question? Any would be much appreciated. I'm trying to figure out if I should trust this guy with it (and speediness would help impact my decision), or go ahead with sending it back to sony for repair for 150 bucks and be without it for at least the whole month.

So far the feedback has been that hes an honest guy and if he cannot fix it he returns it to you in a timely manner.

He owns a repair shop, with a motherboard repair machine. He's legit. Do some research, and check out his website.

I wouldn't mind setting up a shop of my own, but my biggest roadblock would be that I do not work out of my home to accept shipments, etc.

Probably because its a reliable forum to get assistance with your PS3 that attracts many people with PS3 problems. I know my videos alone have attracted numerous people as I get at least 1 PM a day asking a question from a new member about their PS3.

So I sent my PS3 off to Sony, and called them today to deactivate my system from my account. The guy told me I couldn't do that until they send it back. Is this normal? Did I just get a guy who doesn't know anything? I was under the impression I should get it deactivated as soon as possible.

I got a quick question. My HDD is a 320GB 7200rpm toshiba. I insatlled this in my new slim yesterday. After I installed the update and my PS3 came back up I looked at the system info and it said that I had 268gb out of 298gb available. Is that normal? Also was PSN slow yesterday? It took forever to download the bayonetta demo. Thanks.

well that seems normal i would say you gotta consider this out of 320gigs the ps3 operating system took up a few gigs then for apps like home n other what not thats jus needed to run the other lil features after that it left you with 298gigs of usable storage and thats lower due to your game saves and such this is normal you will never get 500gigs or 320 etc ps3 or comp due to o/p system and formatting taking up space by default just so ur hdd can run

Try to reset your controllers, flip them over and there's a tiny hole you'll poke with a needle or something small.
I had this happen awhile back and had to reset my controllers. I think it happened because of a firmware update, I can't remember but I believe it should do the trick.

Yeah this is a known issue. When you turn on your ps3, do you do so with the controller? Attached to the usb?

Typically I power up with the PS button, not attached. I only sometimes run into the error when I'm charging my controller and then disconnect while the console's on.

Alright found out what to do.
Shut down the PS3
Reset your Remote by pushing the small button/hole in the back
Connect PS3 controller with usb cable to PS3
Using the controller press the PS logo button to power on the PS3.
This should synch the controller to your system.

Was just reading an article on N4G today about this. seems like alot of people having this issue. they are blaming firmware 3.10 and sounds like its only happening to PS3 slim

Yep it's happening with my slim. It turns the PS3 on with the PS button but never syncs to be of any use. Connect the cable works fine, soon as I disconnect the cable it un-syncs! I'll have to try the reset thing see if that works.

Default PS3 Controller Syncing Issue

Ok, I have the 120gb slim model and 3 controllers typically used for it (my 4th controller is used on my 80gb in my bedroom and I have no issues with it).

I have one Dualshock 3 and 2 original SIXAXIS controllers synced to the slim. The problem is that they all will turn the system on wirelessly, but sometimes they will not sync up to the system. When I plug them in to the PS3 through the USB and turn them on and unplug them, then the lights just keep blinking again. Other times they sync up just fine.

How does this happen and what can I do?

EDIT:
Note: My message was previously posted separately and moved to this thread (my bad). Don't need to reanswer everything I'll just browse through here and try the suggested solutions.
