Sitting here with the Jaguar we left back home on my mind and wondering if it would make the drive here instead of having it towed here. Threw it off the hip to my wife tonight and sent a text to our old neighbor asking him if he thinks it will be safe to drive. Hopefully he gets back to me tomorrow or I’m going to have to send my useless BiL over. Kind of wish he’d stepped up to the plate, but what can you do when it comes to family

Anyway, communication is definitely lacking in my new neighborhood. Because it has been a ***** getting anyone to return our calls. Maybe it is because we’re calling from out of state numbers? Still, even that feels like a piss poor excuse and sucks. Because all we want to do is support our new hometown
I'm still trying to wrap my head around why a personal residence would need to hire a 3rd party to landscape. Unless you're elderly or physically disabled you should be able to figure out how to operate a mower and perhaps a pair of shears. In your case Donny, you have a 10yr old, so no excuses there. I miss having the kid around to do my hard work for me (fortunately for me she was a tomboy and loved being out doors so I didn't have any issues getting her to cut the grass or trim the weeds

Okay, first off. Don’t call me Donny. My name is Don, Donster or *******, nothing else. Second, my son is 9 and I don’t need to explain why I need a landscaper. I do and that’s all you need to know unless I decide to talk more about it.

How about this one:

Someone's not poor and doesn't want to do it.

Wild!

Or the landscaping job is simply too big and they need professional help. Anybody can rake leaves or mow a lawn but some of these personal gardens can be elaborate.

Or the landscaping requires more than just mowing. Edging and pruning of bushes. I know my younger self wouldn't know what to do with shrubs.

Does anyone buy stuff from Fingerhut? My dad used to buy from them all the time but I thought they went out of business. I've been getting catalogs in the mail and have been tempted to buy a computer since my credit is less than perfect but I've heard that stuff you buy from them ends up costing about 3 times what the product is worth?

Exactly.

These companies exist for a reason and if someone wants to use them for any reason, who cares?

Always do your research. Look at the specific computer they're offering, compare it to other retailers online (eBay, Amazon, etc) and see what the total cost would be from each one, after buying outright or by financing.

From what I've seen from Fingerhut, you will end up paying them several times over for what the same item is offered elsewhere. That's the way a lot of these easy financing places work: They offer a buying option to someone who can't use traditional credit or who can't buy the item outright.

I once worked with a lady who used a Rent-A-Center. We all thought she was just using it for a particular purchase (which is already bad enough), but we came to find out that she was using it for all her furniture and electronics. She was spending thousands of dollars she didn't need to.

One example, I worked out for myself, from a local rental place called Aaron's, was for a PlayStation. If I went to Walmart and bought the Playstation outright, I would have spent $460.00, total, taxes and everything.

If I went with Aaron's payment plan, that same exact PlayStation ended up costing $2600.00 at the very end of the payment schedule.

So, again, always do the research yourself before signing up for anything.

Yeah, you'll pay 3x more. If you can you'd be better off just saving up.

I’m confused by something, the forums show 1 less Blu-ray (and 2 less DVD) than the app does. Look at my info on the left of this post, then look at the below image:

Why the disparity?

Well we’re far from rich. If we were I wouldn’t be stressing on how to get a car from Washington State to Texas at the moment. The back and forth with the neighbor isn’t filling me with confidence. So I’m kind of wishing I had towed the damn thing at this point, but the cross country was stressful enough
