I can't imagine Elliott's comments following their loss yesterday are going to be perceived well by NFL teams. A tough loss for Ohio State, but that was a really bad look for him.

It's not going to be that bad. He's young and it was right after the game as well and he was definitely right he just shouldn't have said it to the media. Just address it to teammates, coaches etc. He's a leader of that team on and off the field so it won't hurt his draft status. If that was the case Johnny Manziel definitely wouldn't have been a 1st round draft pick and many other players coming out of college with serious issues wouldn't get drafted. A comment like that is pretty minor especially being that's the first time he's done something like that. There's no pattern of him doing this. Zeke will be fine.

I understand many of the big money boosters have never liked Miles and have wanted him out for years, but LSU is going to be loaded next year with Leonard Fournette and many other players returning and the #1 recruiting class. If they fire Miles there's a good chance they lose a good portion of that recruiting class. Also, who says you can get a better coach? It sounds like Jimbo Fisher would be their #1 target with Dabo Swinney, Gary Patterson, and Jon Gruden (who is not leaving the MNF booth, especially for college) as backups.

Why would Dabo leave Clemson? It's easier to get to the playoffs going through the ACC.

He's not. When/if Bama calls then there may be something to worry about here. That would be the only school at this point. CU just broke ground on a $55 million football complex that will be done by 2017. Things are just getting started here. This year was suppose to happen next year. CU has played 23 or 28 freshman this year which I believe is tied for 3rd most.

I don't think Jimbo or Dabo would leave their current jobs, and Patterson is a stretch as he's stuck with TCU even though he could have gotten better jobs and now they're in a major conference and have improved their facilities. This may be a case where LSU boosters thinks they can get whoever they want but if the job opens they may find that's not the case.

Hiring Jimbo or Dabo would be extremely expensive. Firing Les would cost $15 million, and then you're looking at another $3-$4 million to buyout his assistants. Both coaches have a $5 million buyout, so LSU would have to pay that, and they'd have to give him something like a 5-year, $30 million contract, plus spends another $3 million or so on assistants. As TCU is a private school I couldn't find Patterson's buyout.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jimbo goes if asked nicely. Lots of rumors trending that way.

Les Miles might be a good fit for Missouri.

If this happens I could see him at South Caroliba if they don't get Herman. That's their #1 choice but he may end up at Mizz. Apparently he has some ties there.

I know I'm a few days late, but...
WOOHOO!
Also, I was at the game, and just want to say that the entire day was a fantastic experience. Every Buckeye fan I interacted with was extraordinarily welcoming. I hope anyone who makes the trip up to East Lansing next year gets treated as well as you treated us.
Now, I know it's entirely likely the committee will pull some shenanigans, but as of right now MSU is in the best position possible. If they win out they absolutely deserve to be in. Being able to say that in week 13 is amazing

I can't see a situation where Michigan State or Iowa doesn't make the playoff if they win out. Notre Dame would have a good resume but I can't see them jumping Michigan State if they have wins over Oregon, Michigan, Ohio State, and Iowa.

I live in Iowa but am not an Iowa fan, but I've got a ton of friends that already have bought tickets for the Big Ten title game. I'm guessing Michigan State will travel well (assuming of course they win this weekend) since Indianapolis is fairly close to East Lansing, and I know Iowa will travel well since they've never made the Big Ten title game, although a loss this week to Nebraska could lead to less people from Iowa going since they probably will be out of playoff contention.

Notre Dame's best hope is chaos in the Big 12. It looks like Oklahoma State would have to beat Oklahoma AND TCU would have to beat Baylor for ND to have a chance. This is what happens when your best win is a loss
I know the Big Ten champion is a lock for the playoff (unless it's Michigan), but I'm just thinking back to last year when MSU was all but guaranteed to go to the Orange Bowl and then things got shuffled around in the final poll. (It worked out ok )

I want lots of chaos. Let's get this thing expanded to eight teams. It would also be in Notre Dame's best interest to ditch independent status and join a conference for football.

They've dipped a toe into the ACC pond already.

They certainly have, and I would love to see them join the ACC full time. It would be a slam dunk addition.
