It's posts like this that make me sad. On 3 characters, all I got was 2dragon's breath, a warlock helmet, another sword breaker and shards/energy from crota.

The VOG got me a hunter helmet and 2 Titan helmets and my 10th VOC.

yeah, nightfall rarely gives me anything. this week i got 11 coins, 9 shards and the hand cannon the calming. :-|

Nightfall has been terrible again this week. Did another Crota last night and got shards

The only thing worth getting was a ghorn and that was my 3rd so I guess I join an exclusive club. Although I've only really had 2 drop since it seems I was one of the very few people that actually bought it when xur was selling it!

When was that? Week 2?

That same kind of thing happened with me and Suros. I bought first from Xur who knows how long ago and only got #2 to drop like a month ago and #3 last night.

Is this game worth playing as a noob now? It's on sale at my local GameStop for $10 and didn't know if it was a good buy with the cheap price if you are just now playing it?

If you have friends that play the game, yes. If not, probably best to skip it.

Also depends if you are looking forward to a lot of games in the future. If the answer is yes, then probably skip it as well as the game demands a lot of time and grind.

I still have a blast playing the game though and I feel like the Dev's do deliver on a lot of what we complain about

Also, the game is 10$ but you will probably really want the DLC as you'll be able to get the better gear and level up your character faster so that's another 30$

That's what I figured. I had it in my hand and thought I know this is just $10 but I bet it requires a lot more time than I am willing to give. Most people I know are still playing COD or are all over Mortal Kombat X at the moment, so looks like this is a no-go for me.

I will second this. I didn't have any friends that played Destiny and I wandered around aimlessly doing missions and just killing things. It got old quick and I almost gave up on the game about three times. I bought the DLC a month ago and started raiding with the guys here and now I love it. I really look forward to my time playing now. Buy it if you have friends to play with, skip it if you're going at it alone. That's my advice.

I find myself falling in the trap of disappointment over the Ghorn. That and a VOC are really the only two things left in the game that I care about acquiring. It makes the rewards, no matter what you get, become meaningless and lackluster when you're treasure hunting for specific items. I realize how terrible that is but it takes some of the shine away when you see the drops pop up after nightfall, Crota, etc, and the one thing you want isn't listed.

Im gonna turn Destiny into a drinking game like Tre, JOakman and BuffaloBeers did last night during Crota. Those dudes were killing me.

Due to technical issues, the latest patch for Destiny has been postponed to a later date, Bungie has announced.

Update 1.2.0 paves the way for the upcoming expansion Destiny: House of Wolves, so the delay of its launch could affect its May 19 release. That said, Bungie is currently hard at work to remedy the patch issues and has not announced any sort of formal delay for the expansion itself.
