If they kept TCU out last year because they didn't play a conference championship then Oklahoma shouldn't get in. Besides Stanford played an extra game and lost to #14 Northwestern & #16 Oregon while Oklahoma had an awful loss and didn't beat anyone (their three best wins were all vs. teams who lost their starting QB).

EDIT: Ignoring that, Oklahoma has a better strength of record, a much better game control, and the best FPI in the country. If the committee really looks at those things like they claim to, Stanford has no argument over Oklahoma. Last edited by Terjyn; 12-06-2015 at 10:35 AM. |

Seeded by record for the top 4 conference champions, then record for the last 4. ACC Big 10 Big 12 Pac SEC Top ranked other conference champ 2 wildcards, but max 1 per conference (so Iowa or Ohio State, not both) |

Obviously all the Power Five champions should get automatic bids, but I think for the wildcards it shouldn't matter about conference affiliation. Just take the best remaining three teams.

The problem is that it ends up leaning in the favor of the bottom heavy leagues like the SEC and Big 10 who frequently end up with 2-3 1 loss teams.

South Carolina hired Will Muschamp as it's head coach after Rich Rodriguez turned the job down. Muschamp went 28-21 at Florida and 17-15 in the SEC, with a 10-13 record his final 2 years. He was the first Florida coach to lose to an FCS team. His major problem at Florida was his offense, so naturally he's hired the offensive coordinator from his final season at Florida as the OC at South Carolina. That offense was 12th in the SEC in total offense.

I don't know if South Carolina's AD thought the job was great or what, but if I was an SC fan I would have much rather had a successful coach from a lower conference like Matt Campbell, who left Toledo for Iowa State or Dino Babers, who left Bowling Green for Syracuse than a retread who was fired from his last job in the same conference.
