Was wondering that myself. It was restricted to 18 and older but I think that's the equivalent to our own R rating. Have seen other versions state uncut but can't remember if 3D.

Forget about what the critics said, including the 4.2 rating on IMDB or one reviewing the 2D Blu-ray for High Definition Digest who panned the story but sensed the film was made for 3D (he was wrong about the adaptation but correct about the video he couldn't see).

Up until a few weeks ago I never even heard of the movie and then read those many negative reviews. So if I sound over enthusiastic it's because i was so surprised. To me it was an exhilarating piece of animation with a great story line, motion capture acting, DTS Master Audio and simply delightful in 3D (an extra feature on the motion capture included finalized scenes shown flat; inadvertently that also demonstrates what is lost without 3D).

Though will not say it is reference quality, "Tarzan the Legend Lives" is certainly a must for the 3D collector. It's also a shame that it was not made available for those in North America - another black eye on the industry.

I can remember enjoying this a long time ago, will have to give it a rewatch now!

Tarzan: Region free version I owned before trading in for the UK one after getting a region free player.



Watched Rise of the Guardians last nice, feels very much like a Christmas movie IMO, some very nice 3D with lots of particles floating forward of the screen.
The boogeyman makes great use of the surround speakers.

Saturday night, I watched the latest Aladdin.


It was a musical. The word "hate" is too strong a word for how I feel about musicals, but I don't like them much. Only this being in 3D could make me watch it. So, I did. The music/singing was well done and the songs were all mercifully short.

Overall, the movie was fun and enjoyable, as is typical for Disney. I thought the 3D was quite good throughout, and worth seeing, but don't expect a bunch of pop-outs that poke you in the eye, because this isn't that kind of film.
