That you did. CU didn't too bad either with a small class. Also had a good shot at Gary but didn't close.

My Houston Cougars did pretty good. We lost a 4-star but still kept the 5-star verbal we picked up early and also a couple of 4-stars.

Next year is going to be a FSU type class. Should be a CU/FSU battle the next few years.

I'm pleased with our class. Richt has done a lot of damage control since taking the reigns. Now we start the climb back up to where we belong.

Only problem is Richt is the coach. He can't coach! That's why he got fired and should have been fired years ago.

Alabama killed it again. Raked in five 5-star recruits and jumped to #1 on Rivals.com. personally I think average star rating per recruit is a better measure than the points system which values quantity over quality. In avg star eating Alabama is far ahead if everyone else at 3.87 stars.

UCF closed very well today. After mediocre recruiting until signing day they added some really good recruits, including two 4 star rated players today. Second best class in the AAC behind Houston, which I can live with.

Recruiting was always something Richt was good at though. Problem is he isn't a very good football coach.

I'm very confident in Coach Richt and his staff. He's back home where he belongs. He won a lot of games at Georgia, and he'll win a lot of games for us.

Watching the 30 for 30 on Colorado and it's just pissing me off about 1990.

10-1-1 is better than 11-0-1. Colorado should have been 9-2-1 as well, but they got a 5th down AND the runner was down before the ball crossed the plane but the refs still gave it to them.

Sympathy vote for Colorado due to the untimely death of Sal Aunese.

Yes, Tech should've been AP NC, too.

Well, Sal died the year prior. It came down to them beating Nebraska at a better time, and the way bowls were done at the time. Colorado got the berth to a bowl against the #4 team, and GT got a bowl against the #19 Nebraska, who after losing 2 of their last 3 during the regular season (the first of which was to Colorado) dropped from #3.

Colorado also started the season at #5.... GT was unranked.

Also, Colorado had a stronger out of conference. GT played one DI-AA team while Colorado played none.

Colorado's opponents went 88-58-4 (37-39-2 in conference). GT's were 76-59-2 (44-35-2 in conference). I also screwed up my numbers earlier, because Colorado apparently played 1 more team than GT that season.

Strength of schedule matters. GA Tech played a rather weak schedule while Colorado played a brutal one. I'd imagine that was why so many picked Colorado over Georgia Tech. Colorado's one loss was by 1 point. That Georgia Tech team was almost completely devoid of any NFL caliber talent with no player taken higher than the 7th round while Colorado had six players taken in the first 4 rounds the following year. I probably would have voted for Colorado over Georgia Tech.

Colorado - 2nd/107, played 7 top-25 teams, 5 top-20 teams.
Georgia Tech - 28th/107, played 3 top-25 teams, 1 top-20 team.

Colorado played teams that finished that season ranked:
8. Tennessee
25. Illinois
12. Texas
5. Washington
17. Oklahoma
24. Nebraska
6. Notre Dame

Georgia Tech played teams that finished the season ranked:
9. Clemson
23. Virginia
24. Nebraska

But they also tied 1 of those games, lost 1 of those games, and were literally, by any definition, given the game against a team not on that list.

But they didn't lose that game, they won. Stuff happens but the final result is the final result. Colorado was named the national champion by 4 of the 5 major polls to GA Tech's one. I don't think that was just coincidence. Hell, I might have ranked Miami ahead of GA Tech in the final poll in addition to Colorado despite their 2 losses. They had a more impressive season.

Seriously? Sure, Miami beat 2 top 10 teams.... but half of the opponents won less than 5 games.

Miami had the #6 SOS in the country with an average margin of victory of 22 points and finished the year with the #1 SRS in the country.

Seriously. The head coach calling a former player a traitor for helping a possible rape victim is sickening.
