Anxious for Buckeyes to start. Ready for my homemade chili too.

I would like to extend an invite to any and all college football fans. I have a Pickem league on Yahoo. Each week you select the winners of Yahoo default games, Top 25 teams, and Big Ten teams. First year doing it, so it's only $5 for the entire season and winner takes all. If interested, let me know. Would love to have some diversity as a lot right now in it are either Ohio State or Michigan fans.

I'm excited for tonight's Cal-Hawaii game in Australia. Even though I don't remotely care about either team it's just nice to have real football back.

Most are predicting UCF to be terrible again (Athlon picked us to go 3-9) but I think they may surprise. Everything just went wrong last season but a lot of players are returning and we had a very good recruiting class. Those first two games vs. South Carolina and Michigan will be disasters though.

Any chances UCF is part of the Big XII expansion? They have tons of potential to grow as a program.

Just rumors. The Big XII coaches took a poll on the teams they'd most like to have join. UCF depressingly was way back in the pack. I think Houston is a stupid choice since the Big XII already has a lock on the state of Texas. BYU I get but I think UCF is a more logical pick than Cincy or Memphis. Central Florida is a big market in a big football state.

BYU & Houston (5 votes each) top @ESPN poll of Big 12 coaches on expansion. Next: Cincinnati, Memphis (4 votes each); CSU, UCF (1 vote each)

With Cincy or Memphis, you're 2nd or 3rd in the state. With UCF, you're 4th or 5th.

Florida already has nearly twice the population of Ohio and about triple the population of Tennessee. The market size is far, far greater in Florida.

LSU fan here. I'm hoping that Leonard Fournette fares better against Alabama this season. Bama shut him down completely last season.

I can't wait for next Saturday's stacked lineup. In my opinion, the SEC plays the best football in America. It's always a pleasure to watch the SEC, regardless of who is in the game.

I'm also looking forward to another decent season for Wazzu. They had a great run last season, and I was sad to see them lose the Apple Cup.

Bummed that my projector went out last week, but hoping it gets repaired and back by Saturday.
I didn't renew my season tickets for Kentucky this year after a very disappointing season last year. Now that we're a week away I can't wait to see if we can finally get to 6 wins.
Go Cats!

The more I read the more likely I think it is that the Big XII stays at 10 teams. The only reason to expand is for money because adding teams like BYU, Cincy, or UCF isn't going to make it more likely for the conference to get a team in the playoff and significantly adds costs to the other sports. If the conference expands ESPN and Fox contractually have to pay the conference about $23 million per each team added and they don't want the Big XII to expand, so I could see them offering the conference some amount of money to get them not to expand.

The Big XII does not have a lock on the state. At least not the Houston area, where the SEC has a larger interest. The Houston area is one of the best recruiting areas in the country and the Big XII is losing the area to the SEC.

Are they going to be be able to get the waiver to hold a conference title game if they stay at 10 schools?

Hawaii has a rough week. Travel to Australia, play the game, travel back to Hawaii, then travel here to Ann Arbor for a Saturday game at noon eastern time.

They don't need a waiver, the NCAA got rid of the rule that said conferences had to have a minimum of 12 teams to have a conference title game. The Big XII voted earlier this year to start having a conference title in 2017.

Good. It was a stupid rule to begin with.
