Don't ever smart talk me again. I was trying to clear things up as he was clearly not talking to you either. Go back to reviewing movies. We will let you know when we are talking to you.

You really going to keep this up? Re-read all of the last page and see where you get off trying to tell me to "pump your brakes cowgirl i was talking to him not you". He wasn't talking to you either. So instead of you pulling your hair out because he didn't respond back to you, I cleared it up with one quick response, since you prob didn't read why that whole last page was answers to a question. It wasn't hard to figure out who he was talking to. Hmmmm, the one who asked a question, or review guy?

I just watched The Thin Red Line...This might just be my favorite WWII film of all time.

I'll have more to say when I get a chance to clear my head...just got back from a day out with the family.

Thanks a bunch for all the help guys! After doing some research, I think I'm going with Seventh Seal, and maybe Days of Heaven also.

Does anyone know if the Criterion case exchange program works for someone who lives in Canada and doesn't have a PayPal account?

I really don't think they will ship outside the U.S.

Funny you should say that. I'm a big WWII "fan" and I try to collect films and documentaries of interest. I own Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers...but The Thin Red Line just blew me away. It was a much more intense film than I had even imagined.

I appreciated the perspective of looking at the psychological side of the invasion of Guadalcanal and the cinematography was just breathtaking...the music was icing on the cake. I felt myself getting all choked up the first 10-15 minutes into the film.

I had forgotten how long a film it really is (2 hours and 50 mins.) and kept expecting it to end at various times.

I felt emotionally drained by the end of the film and needed time to pull myself together...it affected me THAT much.

SPR was a good film about WWII...The Thin Red Line was a PHENOMENAL film about WWII and how if affected the people that fought in it.

Now I want to read the James Jones book that the film was based on.

The Thin Red Line is one film that my views changed on in a huge way. Back when it came out in 1998 i was 17 and literally fell asleep in the theater watching it. I just didn't "get" the film at that age. Nowadays it's one of my favorite war films.

I think that if you're a father...especially having a son(s) like I do...the symbolism hits you a lot more emotionally. That was demonstrated a number of times in this film.

I decided today to go back and watch The Royal Tenenbaums again. And WOW! What a work of art! Wes Anderson is a genius! So new, so fresh. The fact that you guys hate this movie and director so much is beyond me. Don't hate! Why is Criterion not putting out this on blu-blu instead of stupid movies no one has ever heard of? Criterion needs to get their priorities in order. Whenever it's released, I hope it's not digi. Steelbook baby! Wes Anderson is the bestest director like, ever! The way he dresses like a mother dresses a 4 year old to get his picture taken at Sears. So cute. This film rocked hard.

It moved me so much, not emotionally, just my hand when I ficked channels to watch football games.

The Royal Tenenbaums - 100/10

IMDB better have this at #1 in the morning.

Now, you're asking for it, CG. You're just stirring the pot of unholy he11fire.

I say this as the "Bottle Rocket" blu-ray is playing on my TV. No lie.

I will still, to this day though, say I very much enjoy Life Aquatic. But that is kind of because the homage to Cousteau.

I enjoy most of his films but I really didn't like The Royal Tenenbaums. Easily my least favorite movie of his. He just announced his next film Moonrise Kingdom, though I've seen no details regarding what it's supposed to be about. In any case it could probably end up being a complete turd and still find it's way into the Criterion Collection.
