I am aware of what happened. I still highly doubt many people will notice a small label releasing Clownhouse in a limited release.

Like I said before, Most people are clueless when it comes to the small labels. When the dvd was going to get released, it was MGM who was going to put it out. Everyone knows who MGM is, and that was still at a time where people were buying physical media. Not so much today.

As I’ve said, I’m not rooting against a CH release for those who want to own it (personally, I purchased the DVD when it was first released and was unable to watch past the opening scene), but it’s so incredibly naive to think it would somehow avoid outrage and attention.

Look at the hot tempered reactions in this thread. All it’ll take is one person to raise a stink on social media and it’ll catch on. People love to be MadOnline™️, and they’ll certainly take issue with this.

Well controversy is no stranger to Dark Force. Bill knows what's going on with Clownhouse. We will have a serious discussion with a him regarding that one. We feel that you can't judge a movie by the actions of the people involved with it outside of the movie. Definitely intrigued now since it got about four pages of mention on this thread. Will seriously look into it...

MGM owns it. wasted precious time calling other people from the film.

I think the difference betweens Polanski and Salva is that the films Polanski made didn't document his actions. Polanski's victim wasn't ever on screen and the camera never lingered on them. It's like the difference between say R Kelly and Zeppelin, both did bad things only one if them made music about it.

The only viable release I see for Clownhouse is a charitable one. Any and all proceeds should go to victims of sexual abuse. Fans of the film get their wish and no one can say Salva profited.

It's just the most bizarre thing that Francis Ford Coppola and Disney of all people continued to hire Salva after he was convicted.

I have the MGM DVD but I would probably buy a Clownhouse Blu if I knew for certain Salva wouldn't profit from it.

And it's a shame that a similar (although not entirely the same) dark cloud hangs over The Willies. I've wanted that one on Blu-ray for forever.

The director is a Pedro. He's an acting coach that likes to touch his students. He's also the punk from Return of the Living Dead, I believe.

I grew up watching The Willies. Damn shame it isn't on Blu Ray as the quality is poor on any DVD I saw. Watching it or not watching it won't change anything that has happened. Let the law deal with any wrong doings people have done and get titles released I say.

Nothing happened on The Willies. No child was hurt or harmed. The director was convicted for doing something later on in life. Don't agree with what he did (deserves a good old kicking in my opinion) and no one on here or of a sane mind does either but that is for the law to sort out. I just want The Willies on Blu Ray.
