So what are we talking about now, that Perfect Picture with the Perfect Sound, or just better than Digital. How is this going to be measured, by Bitrate alone. Also there is a big range in Displays and equipment. Shouldn't you have a standard here too? There's a lot to consider to attain that Perfect Picture and Sound!

Yeah, there many parameters, but if the source material is bad, no amount of great equipment will fix that.

For 2.39 content do you use the zoom feature on the NX7 or do you use a anamorphic lens? If lens, which one?

For calibration, do you use CalMAN? Sensor?

Okay good answer, but what determines a Bad Source. There are many Bad Discs too!

Choose a bad disc, any bad disc, then compare it with the stream version. The stream is always worse in quality.

I use zoom feature. Using anamorphic will only fain me brightness but adds artifacts.

For cali I use calman for business and K10

Some older info here and here.

Mostly for catalog titles, I have noted several times in this thread that Vudu, Amazon and Netflix will have a source that most likely was/is a master intended for a P&S DVD. There have been many complaints about titles not being in there OAR. Not many BD titles have this problem.

As noted above, many transfers are not up to what they should be, in general, a bad disc will not play or skips.

Of course, a few of them should do very well disc sales wise.

Just watched Aquaman and the 3D is superb, up there with Black Panther and Kong: Skull Island.

I realize you that you are a professional calibrator and your eyes have been trained to see what your clients can’t, but that last point is where we deviate from one another a little. I don’t care if the source is digital or physical, you can’t put lipstick on a pig. A bad source is a bad source.

Yes. A bad source is a bad source. But given the same master, the streaming version will always be worse than the physical media.
