My friend group does a random Secret Santa generator every year (so we don't get the same person as last year) and this year I finally got the hardest person in the group to buy for. The one friend who doesn't care about having anything, and doesn't collect anything. His phone is super smashed up and outdated, sold his laptop cause he never uses it, etc.

However, he recently bought a boat (this past summer) and I had an idea. A wireless and waterproof Bluetooth speaker for the boat. The one I'm looking at is normally $100, but will be $60 on Black Friday. That's $10 over our limit, but I think it's the perfect gift..

do it. no one else will know how much you paid. even if they look up that exact speaker, you can tell them you got it for less.

If he doesn't care about having anything, doesn't collect anything and has a super smashed up and outdated phone and no laptop...why in the world would you get him a bluetooth speaker!!??

Tracking says the post office delivered a package to my front porch an hour ago and there's nothing there, which would imply stolen or delivered to the wrong address, but... the mail carrier hasn't even made his delivery to this neighborhood yet and won't for another hour or so. So what do you think this means?

Happens to me a lot. Either they clicked delivered by accident, was getting a head start on it or delivered it wrong.

Is the flu shot worth it?

My friend was doing their best to convince me into getting one.

So I agreed and as I'm filling out the paperwork, I didn't sign it, but instead crumbled it up and walked away because I ain't getting no damn shot.

Never got the flu shot last year and it worked out fine for me...

Never got the flu shot last year and it worked out fine for me...

I've never had the flu shot, I've also never had the flu.

My mom had one in her 20s, and got the flu from it. That's why she never got one again until she became a senior citizen and also made sure her kids never had one growing up.

I don't think the flu shot is needed unless you're elderly or have a compromised immune system. If you're 60+, then sure get your flu shot.

My wife's a nurse and I got a flu shot for the first time.

It's preventive but not fool proof. Each year's flu shot is based on the most popular strain that year and they can't predict what type of strain is going to every season.

So sure, some can get by without it, and you can get a shot and still get sick but it doesn't necessarily hurt you but I've been seeing way too many stories of really healthy people succumbing to a flu. If a flu shot can even lessen, the extent of a flu I'm okay with taking it every year.

Haven't had a flu shot since I was a kid, I'm now 40. Have been sick over the years maybe 3-4 times. I'm a heavy drinker so my immune system probably isn't the best, yet I still don't catch the flu. Wash your hands like a madman and keep Alex Jones in your nightly prayers, is my suggestion.

Exactly. I've read this years flu shot is somewhere between 15-30 percent effective against the flu. Which isn't entirely assuring to me lol.

As others said, it's mainly for younger children and elderly adults. I'm a 25 year old male who's perfectly healthy.

Happy that court went well today. I was a bit worried before I went in but everything turned out to be alright. Just have one more thing to complete and then I'll be good to go and I think I can even have my record expunged which I would not have expected this soon. I thought it took years. Caught a felony and took a strike so be glad to get past that.

I always suspected it but now it's been confirmed by a repair tech I had to call in - the "Close Door" buttons in elevators don't actually work lol. He said there's no wiring connected to that button and that it's only there because of city regulations or something. Every time I get into an elevator and press that button nothing ever happens. So there's that

They used to work up until 1990 when the Americans With Disabilities Act was passed. It states that someone in a wheel chair must have enough time to get on and doors must stay open for at least three seconds. So any elevators installed before then DID have working close buttons, until elevator techs had to go around and start unwiring those buttons.

Occasionally you might still find one old elevator where it works though..
