I liked the movie, but it was almost a remake of the first one.

It took extra effort to find a 3D version of DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES vs. SALAZAR'S REVENGE.

To my knowledge the only 3D version that has DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES vs. SALAZAR'S REVENGE is on the Cover of the India release, but the actual 3D Blu-ray encode only has the Salazar's Revenge title in that release.

It's interesting that the actor states "DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES" just before the "SALAZAR'S REVENGE" title appears on screen.

Probably the same Studio reasons a title was called: U.S. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone vs U.K.s Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

Probably something to do with political correctness.

Is the 2D>3D conversion on the Oppo any good?

Never had an interest in 3D auto conversion.

Except when it influences native-3D output levels.

Watched the Avengers 2012. Amazing 3d with great depth+ pop out and loved the fact it filled out my screen.

Just watched Blood of Ohma.

At first found it slow and uninteresting, apreciating it only for the surprisingly good 3D (unfortunately with ocassional eye strain during the beginning).

But after awhile the plot actually became more interesting and caught my attention.

Filmed on a shoestring budget with not the best of actors, one has to admire the effort put into this. Good one for 3D collectors. Lots of in your face pop outs but again causing some eyestrain at times.

Hi Okie,

It's a good one so don't worry about your eight bucks being wasted.

To my knowledge the only 3D release with DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES is the Japanese release.

Many have DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES on the cover art, but it actually says SALAZAR'S REVENGE in the movie. I believe this is well documented in the POTC 3D thread.

SALAZAR'S REVENGE was used because DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES doesn't translate well to foreign languages, nor does it have the same meaning.

PHILOSOPHER'S STONE was changed to SORCERER'S STONE against Rowling's better judgement because the publishers thought they had to dumb down the title for American children and that it would inspire more magic. I believe this was one of Rowling's regrets because she didn't have the weight yet to resist.

Watched the recent Ghostbusters film last night.

I thought the 3D was quite good. I also enjoyed the movie itself. However, I loved the original Ghostbusters movie, and think that it stands head and shoulders above the new one. However, do not let that stop you from seeing the new one. It is fun and funny in places and entertaining.
