It'd be so good if Hammer do now own Mystery and Suspense outright and have access to film materials. That's a show in dire need of restoration. It's not as good as House of Horror, but M&S being terrible sub-SD quality next to the gorgeous HoH restoration does it no favours.

I also hope rights to Journey Into the Unknown have reverted from Fox/The Mouse and again, they have access to film elements. That never even had a DVD release. Hell, I'd even take those old 90s transfers from the satellite showings on DVD. Better than nothing!

The UK DVDs of Hammer House of Mystery and Suspense have better extras than the UK Hammer House of Horror releases. 77 mins compared to 20 mins for the latter.

I've been requesting a release for 'Journey into the Unknown' for years.

The German release of Hammer House of Horror from Wicked Vision has the 150 min. doc Flesh & Blood: The Hammer Heritage of Horror in addition to galleries, scripts, outtakes etc.
Was released as a 3 Disc Mediabook and later in a Scanavo case, both sadly out of print by now but available from 3rd party sellers on Amazon.de (for silly money, of course).

Same but as Disney owns it now a release seems even more unlikely than ever, sadly.

I'd buy them as I quite enjoy the 1970's humour that's frowned upon by today's society. I'm not bothered with Rising Damp or the pitiful George & Mildred film (which was ITV's blockbuster movie on Christmas Day in 1980).

Hmmm... Hammer also made a Love Thy Neighbour film which I've never seen. I doubt anyone would dare release that unless it was hidden as a bonus feature with another film

You're lucky to have seen Journey Into the Unknown as I've only ever seen one episode that had a very young Dennis Waterman who falls in love with a mannequin that comes to life.

It was made around the same period as Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) and that looks amazing on Blu-Ray, but I'd take it in SD just to actually be able to see the series.

The much missed Network work put out a blu-ray of it in 2016. I have it. No extras but the picture quality is terrific.

Five left at Amazon. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Love-Neighb...ps%2C90&sr=8-1

I had never seen the Love Thy Neigbour film until Network released it on BD. I really enjoyed it, everyone taking the slash out each other and it has a really lovely, uplifting ending. A nice, feel good factor film Can you imagine Studiocanal even thinking of releasing the 1973 film Love Thy Neighbour, it would be brown trouser day at the SC offices. They even have to put a content warning before the start of the of the 1962, Peter Sellers comedy film Wrong Arm of the Law and the 1985 comedy film Restless Natives.

A clip here from the film, of very much frowned upon 1970s humour. The Love Thy Neighbour bus scene (below) out guns On the Buses for being non PC by miles.

I collect the 1970s TV spin off films, some are better than others. One I do like, which was released by Network, is The Likely Lads.

Like On the Buses, the Steptoe & Son films are not available in the UK on Blu-ray.

Porridge does justice to the TV series (characters are well developed and as we remember them), and the same goes for Are You Being Served. Man About The House I was less keen on and I didn’t find it very engaging at all. For me the On The Buses trilogy actually trumps the TV series, which isn’t usually the case with these spin offs.

I think the Please Sir film is better than the TV series too.

Being a kid of the early-80s, Please Sir and On the Buses to me were these films. I’d never seen the shows they were based on (although I knew they existed).

uh, that film is interesting and enjoyable, but does it really deserve a 5 disc 4k set when classics like Horror of Dracula and others haven't been remastered? Hope this finds a market, but it seems strange that this is the film they decided to do a deluxe version of, imho. (also, in the US, Kino is releasing Scars of Dracula in 4k - the first Hammer in 4k in the US, I believe. Another strange decision, imho)

It's not as if they can release any Hammer film they want and opted for those. If they had the rights for Dracula or one of the bigger titles they most likely would have given those priority.

As for whether Kronos deserves this treatment... well, if it sells well, it does.

I will probably not be able to resist. But I could risk waiting and hoping the Standard Edition will also have both UHDs.

This movie turned me towards watching a lot more hammer quite recently. After that I got a lot of Indicator releases (one box and some individuals).

Oh man, that looks like a lot of fun! I was able to pass on most of these ridiculous Second Sight like boxes, but Hammer I asked them via contact form if they could look into registering for IOSS. It's only fair when their disc offers so much of the languages spoken in Europe as subtitles

I think they do own some like Dracula over here but they don’t hold master material so that ball is in Warners court.

Otherwise yeah, they can only release what they have the rights to themselves (and can access archival film elements of good quality.)
