I was just about to post that myself. This could look good as a live action one off! Now I feel the nee to make my own awesome mix tape for playing Destiny...

I believe those codes were something I redeemed a while ago. They were promos that were floating around but I guess they weren't available for viewing until now. It shows I redeemed them on July 22 after clicking "Use Now" I didn't know they got scrubbed from the site...

That size is ridiculous if true. Most PS4 games haven't even taken up that much data. This leads me to believe a couple of things have happened

1) The expansion pack contents already completed and locked on disk till December for expansion 1 and possibly February for expansion pack 2

2) Bungie identified a LOT of last minute optimisation that they could do since the disks were sent to get pressed.

I'm personally gonna say #1 is the most likely given the size of the patch. Optimisation on the other hand to such a large size is practically unheard of.

Bungie are going to annoy some people ino, OR there better have been 21gb of Altrustic goodies included such as Space Beard, better customisation controls etc. and more explorable play spaces.

I feel like Bungie and Activision are deliberately holding back content for future monetisation opportunities that are practically on disk etc.

What is it you don't get with the regular version that you want?

So does pre installing install patches as well as the game? I always thought it just pre installed the game then updates would only be done once you launched the game.

Yea that's what I'm trying to figure out. You would figure that if your downloading it then it would be the newest build. If is a patch then it should be replacing some existing material. Guess we won't know anything till release day.

Yeah, they really meant it when they said limited editions. I still kick my self for not getting the limited edition since it's actually a good deal. The expansion pack alone was worth $35 so it was only $5 more for the nice steelbook and other goodies.

Of course I could still order the PS3 one and keep the goodies for myself and give the game to my brother for Xmas or something.

I think you can still order Last gen versions. Not sure if the expansion packs included are tied to a generation or not. But I'm sure you could sell the steelbook for a nice price and keep everything else.

Basically what Harlock says below. The cool steelbook case, goodies that come along with it, but mostly the dlc that I was gonna purchase anyways. The LE comes out to only $5 more than just buying the regular version and then the dlc separate. But you get all the extras.

Raids. You're going to need 6 people including yourself to take part in a Raid.

Go with the digital guardian edition on PSN then. If it was mostly the DLC you can get the game and all the digital DLC for $10 less than the physical - you just won't get the steelbook or the physical goodies, but you'll get the rest.

Your options are basically:
  • Skip playing
  • Buy the regular retail version
  • Buy the digital LE version
  • Pay a premium for the physical LEs

That's where you end up buying the regular edition on PS4 as well as the last gen...I forgot to mention that . So you you're still paying over price but if the DLC is just a code that you can choose your system, the steelbook could be sold. That is unless you really want the steelbook too. Then you'd have to swap out the discs.

I'm not a fan of buying games digitally, nor will I pay $150 or more for the LE. I might wait until more LE copies get restocked, that is if I can be patient.

Will the digital guardian edition still be offered for download after the game releases? I won't have the money to get it on the 9th but I will at the end of the week.

Celebrating the Destiny Community

The launch of Destiny is imminent. For years, we’ve been dreaming of a world where you would be a unique hero. As those dreams become a reality, we’d love to celebrate with you.

The development of Destiny has been a long journey. So many of you have come along with us for what has been one hell of a ride. At the end of that road, some of you may find what you’ve been looking for in our studio.

You’re invited to be our guest, right here at Bungie. We’re throwing our doors open wide. Come and see where we work. Meet the people who have prepared Destiny for launch. Put your skills to the test in our arena. While you wait for your turn, anything can happen. It is, after all, a public event.

When: Monday, September 8th
How long: Noon – 5:00 PM
Who: All are welcome
Why: Because you’re awesome
Where: Bungie
550 106th Avenue
Bellevue, WA 98004
Parking: Galleria Garage
(public transportation recommended
)

The first 300 attendees stand a good chance of touring our studio and stepping into the Crucible for a match of competitive multiplayer action. The first 1,000 people in line won’t leave empty-handed. Everyone who attends can enjoy the fun and surprises that we have planned.

This will be a day of celebrating the vivid community that will bring the world of Destiny to life. Come and pay us a visit before the real party begins.

I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment thinking the LE will get restocked.

I get you're not a fan, but you're now at a point that you're basically going to need to make some sort of compromise. At this point you're kinda painted yourself into a no win situation with all your criteria.

Man, I feel like Bungie are doing a sweet thing for local fans and those aboe to travel. If I had the money to burn, i'd probably be the type to jet set to such events lol

My Ghost Editions shipped, but I hear couriers are told to hold delivery till release day.

I could probably do it, from SFO. It would not be cheap. I'd do it like a commuter flight, fly in and fly out a few hours later and then hit the midnight release at my Gamestop.

Same here on both counts

I'd love to be able to jet off at the drop of a hat to events like that. GAME "shipped" my Ghost Edition too, but I read that "Shipped" means that it's been packed up and had delivery address stamped on it ready for the courier. Bit misleading calling that shipped

As long as it's here for release day I'm happy
