Pray was alright. Entertaining enough for me to sit through, but it had its issues.
[Show spoiler]Naru defeating predator at the end wasn't believable. Should have had her and her brother teaming up at the end instead.
Now that would have been a lot better. I also felt it was missing a bit of that predator vibe. Three stars from me

Art and entertainment are subjective, for sure. But your opinion on the Alien films does remain on the edge statistically.

Alien 3 is my favourite too, although I recognise it's not the best. Just a personal slant.

Being with the majority would give me no comfort whatsoever. In fact, most times, the opposite.

Movie was decent enough but anybody who puts it up close to the original or even the second one is smoking some shit I'd like to get ahold of myself

You don't need a button. Just type out the code. [spoiler] and [/ spoiler] without the space

The bumbling marines and their one-liners. The cargo loader is a robot instead of a fork lift so we can have a robot vs alien fight at the end. A little shrieking girl manages to be the only one left alive in a colony. Oh and let's not forgot the comedian they hired to be the bad human. But fair enough as he wasn't a very funny stand-up comedian either. So happy in Alien3 when it started out with her and the final marine killed.

I'll bet while I was laughing at the "get away from her, you *****" line, you all stood up in the theater, cheered, and fist pumped./

I finally got around to this, yesterday.

It was OK. A tight, fast, 99 minute time waster. Not terrible, not great. Just alright, really.
I didn't dislike it, but will likely never watch it again.

Just my opinion.

Saw it last night on Disney+. Thought it was good overall, but nothing more. Great background plot idea but let down by lacklustre script, uninspiring cinematography, poor sound effects and mediocre acting. 6/10

Enjoyed this overall, a nice simple slick thriller, even if nothing groundbreaking. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4, the 4K HDR on Hulu also looked good.

It was like a Cannon film without Golan or Globus. A mildly entertaining pastiche.

I had read this stat sometime ago so I did a quick search and found this:

How prevalent is flat-Earthery? In a previous column, we examined what seems to have been the first systematic attempt to assess the American population’s views on the shape of the Earth, a YouGov poll conducted in February 2018. According to YouGov’s report, when asked, “Do you believe that the world is round or flat,” 2 percent of the 8,215 respondents chose “I have always believed the world is flat.”

As this is 4 years old and only one poll the number could vary slightly either way. Did my comment get your knickers in a twist?

Yup, we're pretty much on the same wavelenght on this one. It was nice enough, but I can't see myself revisiting it.

P.S.: Is there any way to undo a poll? I mistakenly pushed the ** star button instead of ***.

He cheers for people dying, including children. Nuff said.

Sorry to derail Prey.

Did I attempt to explain it? Didn't care as it corrected a wrong and ended the franchise properly as the only way it should.

I love Aliens but do find it a bit saccharine at times for my personal tastes. As for Alien³ the 4K Project put an end to any issues I had with the opening minutes. I will post it somewhere here on the forum when it becomes publicly available.

Back on topic I found Prey even better on rewatch. Adore the visual storytelling and parallels between Naru and Feral. Beautiful score.

I really enjoyed this one. Of course, I am also one of the few who enjoyed The Predator. However, this was a well crafted film with a likable heroine and some really gnarly action sequences. Amber Midthunder did a great job and no she was not a "Mary Sue". God, I hate hearing that term applied to every female lead in any action movie that comes out today, but Naru is truly not a Mary Sue. She gets her ass handed to her an the regular, but her strength is not brawn, it's brains and she uses those brains to outwit her foe where her physical strength would fall very short. Midthunder makes Naru vulnerable enough to earn sympathy, but also strong minded enough to fight for not only her own survival, but that of her people. I cannot wait to see where they take this story. There is still plenty of life left in the Predator franchise as long as they continue to find filmmakers who have love for the franchise as well as a vision.

4/5 I will say it is the best one since Predator 2. And I enjoy the others and hell, I even adore AVP! Oh the shame. Not ashamed at all.
